Introduction-

Aadhar is a unique identification project of India. Which means ‘foundation’ in many


Indian languages. Rs 1600 to be spent on Aadhar. Uid meanas Unique identification project
renamed as Aadhar. AADHAAR project helps Government and Resident of each state in
India that could be obtained a 16 digit Unique Identification Number (UID) or AADHAAR
by the citizen and proposed to get in November 2010 for its first phase; it is stands on the
data collected during the continuing survey operations that was completed by May 15 to July
end, 2010 in India.

In this UID / AADHAAR operation in India, the first stage pictured house listing and housing
survey during the 45 days to extended period operation in India. It may be achievable to issue
UID / AADHAAR to citizens in six months after the first stage survey is completed. As per
survey, information collected in the first round assessment will not only help in forming a
precious database, but also the country's first ever national popular register (NPR). 

The census data in India will be made available to Unique Identification Authority of India
(UIDAI) / AADHAAR after the first stage process in India is completed by September this
year 2010. AADHAAR, which will be issued the UID to citizens and Registrar General and
Census Commissioner have arrived at an understanding over distribution of the database. 

From this project, every citizen of India will not only be identified by a separate number, but
also his individual details will be filed in the NPR, sources said, adding that AADHAR has
taken it up as a challenge to issue the Unique Identification Number to all citizens. The
census may happen once in ten years, but the UID will be a continuous process and the
information may go on changing. UIDIA or unique identification project was initially conceived by
the Planning Commission. The main motive of this initiative was to generate a unique identification to
each resident across the country. Unique identification number will be used to deliver welfare
services.
In the second meeting of the EGoM, which was held on 28 January 2008, strategy for the collation of
NPR and UIDAI was discussed. Inter-alia, the proposal to establish UIDAI Authority under the
Planning Commission was approved and thus Unique Identification Authority got the establishing
recognition.

The Unique Identification project is the largest project undertaken anywhere in the
world to provide people with a unique identification number. What is UIDAI logo or
Aadhaar Logo?
Aadhaar or UIDAI logo is the visual representation of unique identification project. The Aadhaar logo
is a sun in red and yellow, with a fingerprint traced across its center. The message behind Aadhaar
logo is the new dawn of equal opportunity for each individual. To achieve this UIDAI has signed a
number of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which are listed below.

Nandan Nilekani is currently the Chairman of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI)—which aims to
provide a unique identification number for all residents of India in the rank and status of a Cabinet Minister.
Nandan Nilekani was most recently the co-chairman of the board of directors of Infosys Technologies Limited,
which he co-founded in 1981. Serving as director on the company's board since its inception to July 2009, he has

held various posts at Infosys, including chief executive officer and managing director, president, and chief officer.

Need of Aadhar
1. It is one singular and unique identity that will be recognized and accepted across the
country and across all service providers.
2. Aadhaar (Unique identification number) will increase trust between public and private
agencies and residents.
3. Aadhaar will empower poor underprivileged residents.

Steps to get Aadhar Identification id – This AaDHAAR group will be helpful to


uplift the people who are behind the poverty line, the people who are affected by the natural
disasters like Tsunami etc, 
1. A resident or applicant will have to go to an enrolling agency, where he or she has to fill up an
application form and provide the supporting documentation.

2. After getting the required data enrolling agency will collect this information and send the data,
to the registrar who will pass this on to the UID database.

4. The registrar will scan the supporting documentation and send it to the UIDAI and keep the
physical copies with themselves.
Ekalawya project - This project is very good one. We the Indians that when will
the Indian names come in the list of the medal winners during the Olympic games. But
this AADHAAR association has the very in need project to solve thi problem. There is
a group allocated for find the talented youngsters who have the sufficient skill to hit the
target . Yoga and some other competitions involved in the Olympic Games. 
The founded youngsters will be trained with the apt coach. They will also be given a
separate room, studying materials to study during their free times. Hence this project
not only giving the underprivileged talented youngsters, a chance for winning medals in
the Olympics and also a fair free chance for them to learn in the calm environment. 

Even though this project was established before a decade, it has not reached the
original aim of its own due to the lack of financial governs. The financial problem was
even noticed by our Government and it has been struggling to get the actual financial
need to buy equipments and book materials. Recently this project has been taken over
in the hands of the AADHAAR and coming up slowly to get its genuine aim which can
make healthier India in fact.

Rajana Sonawane India's first Unique ID card recipient thanks UPA chairperson Sonia
Gandhi for the honour.  "Aadhaar card is the aadhar (support) of my life," Ranjana
said. "Wherever she will go, it will come in handy. The card will be useful at the ration
shop and for getting employment," Rajana said flaunting the card which has the slogan
''Aadhaar-common man's right''. ‘782474317884’. Ranjana Sadashiv Sonawane is unable to read
the 12-digit number printed on a piece of paper given to her. But the 41-year-old resident of Tembhli
village in Nandurbar district, who created history on Wednesday by becoming the first person to get a
unique identity number under the UPA government’s much publicised Aadhar project, is not willing to let
such minor issues mar the celebrations

technology.it has helped to issue first unique identification in the ceremony.and to start this
project.it has given help as by technology as and fingerprints and scan.

A a 12-digi identification numberwill be provided to every person. It will be connected to


fingerprint and iris biometrics .

Morpho is supplying technology to scan the collected biometric samples to ensure that
duplicate entry is prohoibited .

Aadhar project is UNconstitutional-

Gunjan singh lawyer has written that the congress party is in herry to launch its project
because they don,t have any lefal permission or government of india has pay attention
towards the constitutional of unique identification project .they are waisting the Indian people
money on such project and government does not care Indian money and interest of Indian
public.

According, to Praveen Dalal, even the constitution of India has been totally neglected by
Congress government. He further maintains that Congress government is taking anti national
steps and neither the indian court nor the Parliament is challenging it..

There is no law for Aadhar project or unique identification authority of India (UIDAI) and
no is there any scrutiny as by the Indian constitution,
There are so many project are already going on Aadhar should not start in hurry.

It is high time to say no to but he is also added that it is to early to react on aadhar.

its People.With the launch of the 'Aadhaar' on September 29, it will add new chapter in the
history of india nilkeni has promised to retain the uniqueness of aadhar byt biometric based
identification project .

The national launch of Aadhaar will add a new chapter in the efforts of the government in en
growth and bringing in greater efficiency and transparency in governance.

Aadhaar can change and increase the service delivery and governance in the country, a

Minister Manmohan Singh presents first such number at a function in a tribal district of
Maharashtra.

financial year and cover around 600 million Indians by 2014.

The number is aimed at ensuring that the citizens get more efficient access to national
schemes such as the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.

UID: 60 lakh students to be enrolled

THIRUVANATHAPURAM: As part of providing Unique Identity Number to students by the


Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), government , the gave 60 lakh students
from the State this academic year.
Students from class I to XII would be given ‘AADHAAR number keral is the first state who
has implemented it ,
UIDAI was established in 2009 by the Union Government for setting up the fundamental
development
. This is in the form of AADHAAR, a 12-digit Unique Identification Number (UID) that will
be provided to an individual.
The 60 lakh students will be given uid id in 20 or 30 days .

Uidai has also targeted to for Kerala before March 31, 2011. IT@School is planning to
complete the enrolment process for all students (60 lakh) during this period.

Govt allocates Rs 3000 cr for unique ID project

Government sanctioned funds for the second phase of the ambitious scheme for unique
identity numbers to 10 crore of the country's population.

The Committee on Unique Identification Authority of India, at a meeting chaired by Prime


Minister Manmmohan approved rs 3000 crore for unique identification project.rs 477 crore
would be spent on the establishment of expenditure of Aadhar.

August 2010 and March 2011. Thereafter, 600 million UID numbers are expected to be
issued within the next three years. The UID project would provide unique numbers to all
residents of India. The UIDAI proposes to collect the demographic and biometric attributes of
residents through various agencies of the Central and the State Governments and others who,
in normal course of their activities, interact with the residents.

headquarters, creating testing facilities for running the pilots and proof of concept (PoC)
experiments, initial work of

Aadhar workshop in chandigarh-


Today a new workshop was organize by the government of india .Today a workshop was
held to apprise the officers of the Chandigarh Administration about the concept of Unique
Identification Number (UID). The project has been named as ‘Aadhaar’. Its implementation
approach and other related issues by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI),
Planning Commission, New Delhi were discussed in the workshop.

Mr Ambrish Shahi of UIDAI, said, “Aadhaar is a unique, intiative 12 digit identification


number for Indian residents. One Aadhaar will be generated for one beneficiary and that
would include children under the age of five years as well. Aadhaar enabled applications like
PDS, NaREGA, social security, RSBY, etc will help in enabling the administration to
effectively monitor state-wide government service and impact delivery.”

UIDAI will also provide process integration to the various administrations to become
Aadhaar-ready. procurement of hardware and software and will also provide financial
assistance to the tune of Rs 450 crore to the 28 states and seven union territories.

Mr. Sanjay Kumar, Finance Secretary, who is also the UID Commissioner for UT of
Chandigarh stated that the Chandigarh Administration has taken major steps in collecting the
data so that the UID process for the residents of Chandigarh is rolled out once the census data
is collected. He further informed that UID data
collection has been unified with the smart card project of Public Distribution System (PDS).
So far 1,80,000 families as beneficiaries of the PDS have been identified and the camps have
been started by the Deputy Commissioner, UT, Chandigarh to collect the data. The collected
data will have bio-metrics of all the ten fingers and is also likely to have Irish data (reading of
eye ball). These bio-metrics and Irish data will establish the identification of any individual
and will ensure that there is only one unique identification given to any resident of the
country. He further informed that the Chandigarh Administration is already tied-up with
Director of Census so that during the census operation the data which are collected are
uniform and are sent to the UID Authorities. The UID authorities will carry out the de-
duplication check at the national level to ensure that no resident of the country gets two
identification numbers. He urged upon all the residents of Chandigarh that whenever camps
are held they should come forward to give their details alongwith bio-metric details to the
authorities during the survey for the PDS, Smart Card as well as Census.
