Not necessarily. It is possible for you to avoid heart disease by living a healthy lifestyle.However, if your parents or grandparents have heart disease, it could be a sign that heartdisease runs in your family, which could mean that you are at a greater risk for gettingheart disease.

In the United States, heart disease kills more people than anything else. One out of everythree people dies of heart disease.
How do I know if I have heart disease?
Have your doctor check your blood pressure and cholesterol levels. If you have had aheart attack, it may have been caused by heart disease. High blood pressure, highcholesterol, and heart attack are all warning signs of heart disease.
