VJM OFERECE FORMAÇÃO EM EM-
PREENDEDORISMO À 210 JOVENS
No âmbito do desenvolvimento e promoção do

auto-emprego no seio da Juventude, a VJM-Visão Jo-
vem Moçambicana, oferece um curso na área do em-
preendedorismo para mais de 210 Jovens, do Bairro
Polana Caniço B, Bairro de Chiquelene, Cidade de Ma-
puto. Este curso esta a cargo da Wake up, uma empresa
especializada na formação de mão-de-obra especializa-
da e profissional para o mercado. Esta iniciativa resulta
de um acordo de cooperação e trabalho mutuo entre a
VJM e a Wake Up.
O curso terá a duração de 3 meses, e após a forma-

ção, os mais empenhados terão a sua integração directa
no mercado de trabalho, podendo participar também na
primeira conferência sobre a criação e gestão de negó-
cios, a ser organizada pela VJM e a FORMEDIA - Insti-
tuto Europeu de Gestores e Empresários.

YOUTH ENTREPRENEURSHIP
In the development and promotion of self-employ-
ment within the Youth, Young Mozambican VJM-Vision of-
fers a course on entrepreneurship for more than 210 Young,
Barrio Polana Canico B Chiquelene district, Maputo City.
This course is in charge of Wake Up, a company specializ-
ing in the training of skilled labor and professional market.
This initiative stems from an agreement on cooperation
and mutual work between the VJM and Wake Up
The course will last three months, and after training,

the most committed will have their direct integration into
the labor market, may also participate in the first confer-
ence on the creation and management business, to be host-
ed by VJM and FORMEDIA - Institute European Managers
and Entrepreneurs.

Mozambique has a population of 20,579,265 according to
2007 census [4], which represents an increase of 27.8% over the
16,099,246 listed in the 1997 census. Also according to the 2007
census, the urban population totaled 6,282,632, equivalent to 30%
of the total, and the sex ratio of 92.7 was the result of a total of
9,897,116 men and 10,682,149 women.
It is a multiracial country of overwhelming black majority,

but social tensions do not arise between different ethnic groups,
but between the North (poor) and south (more developed). As the
ethnic composition of 46.1% are Macua, 53% Tsongas, Malawi and
Chona, and 0.9% other (1996).

environment, often quite hostile, they need to live (and adapt) all

The history of the twentieth century and the immense de-
velopment experienced by Western economies, contrasted with
the stagnation of communist countries, showed that Schumpeter
was right. However, as some understand the great benefits derived
from the “creative destruction”, many still insist to reject it, espe-
cially those influenced by the romantic and opportunistic rhetoric
of some sections of the left, preserving the false idea that the pri-
mary function of a company is to generate (or maintain) jobs.
Companies are aiming to generate profit for their share-
holders, which is only possible through the inversion of savings
into investment risk and efficiently meeting the needs and desires
of consumers. The generation of jobs and increasing wages are
virtuous and desirable consequences of the pursuit of profit, and
appear only in terms of competitiveness, market demands and
increase productivity. It is a very serious mistake to think of jobs
as ends in themselves. They are merely means, as other factors of
production, subject to the inexorable law of supply and demand.
In a market economy, new companies are born and thrive
often conquering spaces formerly occupied by its competitors.
Trying to protect markets, revenues, jobs and profits of companies
established eventually obstruct the natural process towards prog-
ress. Understanding this means welcome to the emergence of new
and old companies to extinction, because only then we make sure
that the market will be replacing what is obsolete, outdated, and

It may seem cruel, especially for those who are directly af-
