BSNL Tariff

This is a communication system that connects customers to the Public Switched
Telephone Network (PSTN) using radio frequency signals as a substitute for

conventional wires for all or part of the connection between the subscribers and the
telephone exchange.
Countrywide WLL is being offered in areas that are non-feasible for the normal
network.
Helping relieve congestion of connections in the normal cable/wire based network in
urban areas.
Connecting the remote and scattered rural areas.
Limited mobility without any air-time charge

A.Tariff applicable for New Customer:
1.Now All Plans available under 2G Postpaid mobile services are available for
CDMA/WLL customers.
2.The above tariff is applicable subject to technical feasibility.Presently above tariff is

feasible in 11 circles only viz.-HP,HR,PB,RJ,UP(E),UP(W),Uttaranchal,MH,WB and
Kolkatta Telecom District.
3. All the CDMA customers will be provided 1X data service which shall be charged @
5paise/100KB or unlimited 1X data usage for additional Rs.250/Month, if opted
4. The CDMA activation charges of Rs.100 in case of RUIM and Rs.900 in case of
IFWT, (if provided by BSNL) will apply.

1.2 For calculating financial implication service tax @ 12.36% has been considered

3. The Unit (MCU) rate and free calls has been considered as per Plan selected by the
customer.
4. Under Annual/Biennial Plan, Financial implication has been calculated after considering
the Lump-sum charges divided by validity of plan.
5. Rural definition as per existing DOT policy will continue.
6. Unit call charges for Trunk calls will remain unchanged but for PCO including
Local/STD/ISD PCO & VPT, separate order has been issued.
7. Service charges for Trunk calls will remain unchanged.
8. There is a separate tariff for NCR region.
9. The fixed monthly charges etc for senior citizen and commercial subscriber will be
same as applicable to residential subscribers.
10. The outgoing calls from sulabh connection are chargeable @ Rs. 1.20/Pulse and
through ITC @ Rs.1.00/pulse.
11. With effect from 01.12.2006, fixed monthly charges will not be increased in all such
cases where exchange system capacity is going beyond 29999 lines irrespective of
rural and urban areas.
12. Replacement of handset when damaged shall be on payment of cost of handset
prevailing at the time of replacement.
13. In all cases replacement of battery and other consumable will rest with customer.
* Only in cases where the connection is not available across the counter and the customer has
to be kept in waiting list.
** The security deposit can be increased in case of higher usage or default in payments, as in
case of a wired line connections.
# The average rate per min. has been calculated based on the unit rate for calls upto 300
MCU.

*Promotional Scheme: As a Promotional measure during the festive season, RUIM & Activation Charges of Rs. 20 is
waived off for 90days w.e.f. 20.09.2010
Note
1. In case the defect in RUIM is beyond the control of the customer ,the new RUIM is to be provided free of cost from
BSNL,CSC.
2. In case defect or loss of RUIM is due to customer negligence, Rs.20 is to be recovered for the replacement of the
RUIM.
3. The same charge of Rs.20 will also be applicable in case of reactivation of closed connection after GP-II in case of
prepaid serevices and after permanent closure due to non payment in case of postpaid services.
^ Lifetime validity means the license period i.e. Feb-2020 or upto renewed license period. To continue with lifetime validity
benefit, recharge/top-up with minimum of Rs.200 in every 180 days will be required. Although for promotional period of 90
days w.e.f. 07.10.2010 the Minimum Recharge condition for life time plans has been reduced from Rs. 200 to Rs. 49(MRP
Rs. 54 inclusive of S. Tax)
In case of Assam, J&K and North East LSAs, extension of validity is subject to the guidelines/instructions issued by Govt. of
India/Regulatory Authority from time to time.
# After tariff validity of 365 days, the customer will automatically be migrated to base tariff Plan i.e., Option I.
b) RUIM would be 1X and EVDO enabled and can be used all over India (except Mumbai and Delhi ).

Other terms and conditions :

• The above tariff is applicable to CDMA Limited Mobility/Full Mobility.
• The free talk time of Rs 750 in plan 1 ,2 & 3 may be implemented on promtional basis for a
period of 90 days from the date of launching of of the service.After expiry of promotional period
of 90 days , free talk time and validity will be appilicable as per general plan.
• The unutilized balance amount of previous card can be carried forward in case of renewal
within grace period, otherwise it will be lapsed.
• Every customer would need to recharge with a minimum recharge voucher of Rs.111/- if he
has to continue with the service after the compltion og initial validity of 30/90 days as applicable.
• During the grace period, no outgoing calls shall be allowed except emergency calls (toll
free).

WLL (Wireless in Local Loop) is an emerging Access Network technology

based on CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access) principle. This technology is
very much useful for providing cost effective mobile service, for providing
wireless telephone connection in areas where provision of land line telephone
connection is not feasible.
2 What is WLL with limited mobility service?
Limited mobility means providing mobile service with in one single charging
area. In a single charging area the limited mobility subscriber can roam any
where and make or receive calls.

13 What is fixed WLL service?
This is a service provided using fixed wireless Terminal and a telephone

instrument. The Fixed Wireless Terminal (FWT) will be wall mounted and
provided with an indoor type or outdoor type antenna depending on the
location of the premises keeping in view the strength of the radio signal to be
transmitted and received. The antenna is connected to wall set . A
conventional telephone instrument is connected to the wall set through a
short telephone cable. The wall set is powered by 230 V commercial A.C.
supply available in the subscriber’s premises.
14 How much power FWT consumes ?
The FWT consumes negligible amount of power when telephone is idle. Only
during conversation time the power consumed is about 10 to 15 W, which is
same as ‘0’ Watt bulb normally used as night lamp.
15 What happens in case of power failure?
The FWT(wall set) has a built-in battery back-up. It takes care of power
failures lasting as long as eight hours. When the main is on the battery is on
continuous charge. If the battery gets deeply discharged due to prolonged
power failure, then it would take about four hours to regain it’s full charge.
16 Can Internet be accessed from WLL-FWT line ?
Yes. WLL-FWT set comes with built in modem. For accessing Internet you
don’t need any additional modem. The following procedure may be followed
for establishing Internet connection. 1. Connect RS-232 cable between your
PC COM port and data port of FWT 2. In control panel select Add Hardware

9 In case my area do not have EVDO. What are other options
We can provide you data card with speed up to 144Kbps across the country
at a very attractive rate. Such data cards are also available as USB and

10 Do you provide Roaming on data cards ?
You can move within your city (SDCA) with the data cards at present. We are
rolling out all India roaming and shall announce the same in near future.
11 Where to contact for any problem in the data card ?
Although fault in data card is remote, you may contact nearest BSNL
Customer Service Centre for any help.
12 How to Install the Data Card in Desktop/Laptop?
The CD provided along with Data card may be used to install it. The CD is self
running & interactive, you will be able to install it yourself.
13 Will I be able get full 2.4 Mbps speed?
This depends on how far you stay from CDMA BTS, either with EVDO
network or CDMA 1x. You will get very good speeds if the tower is within 2
â€“ 3 KMs radius.
14 How can I find out if there's a tower near my house?
You need to visit your nearest BSNL Customer Service Centre and they will
check your address.
15 What is EV-DO?
Evolution-Data Optimized / Evolution-Data ( often abbreviated as EV-DO or
EVDO and often EV) is a telecommunications standard for the wireless
transmission of data through radio signals, typically for broadband Internet
access. It provides fast wireless broadband internet service directly to your
laptop/DEsktop.
16 What is CDMA 1x?
CDMA 1x is the previous version or the older version of EVDO.
17 What is CDMA?
CDMA, Code Division Multiple Access, uses advanced mathematical
techniques to allow multiple wireless devices to transmit simultaneously on
the same frequency. Every device, such as a mobile phone, is assigned a
unique mathematical signature. It applies this signature to the original signal
and transmits the modified signal. A receiver applies the inverse of the
mathematical operation to recover the original signal.
18 What is the speed of CDMA 1x?
CDMA 1x offers up to 144 Kbps.
19 What is the difference between CDMA 1x and EVDO?
CDMA 1x is relatively older when compared with EVDO in terms of speed and
performance. While CDMA 1x offers 144 Kbps, its successor EVDO offers up
to 2.4 Mbps.
20 Can I use a EVDO device to access CDMA 1x network?
Since EVDO devices offers backward compatibility, you can access a CDMA
1x network with EVDO device.
21 Can I access EVDO Network with CDMA 1x device?
No, you can't.
22 Does EVDO device use a R-UIM / SIM card?
No, the device can access the network without a R-UIM / SIM card.
23 Where can I buy EVDO device?
You can buy the EVDO device at your local BSNL Customer Service Centre.
24 Can I use this device with Windows Vista?
Yes you can.

Circle has introduced high speed Internet service using
EVDO Data Card. It is Wireless Broadband! EVDO Data
Card can give Internet acess speed upto 2.4 Mbps.
Salient features are:
• Free Internet usage limit: UNLIMITED

• Cost of card ( purchased outright): Rs.2500
(inclusive of Sale Tax)
• Fixed monthly chrages: Rs.750.00
• Speed: Upto 2.4 Mbps
• Regsistration charges: Nil
• Activation charges: Rs. 500

Internet Service @144 Kbps using WLL phone (fixed

and mobile) is now available for the subscribers of
Assam. This can be availed directly with the WLL set of
existing MSC-based subscribers by entering user ID &
password in the dialler. Also, the CDMA IX Internet
Connect Card (ICC), a Data Card, will provide the
Internet access to computer users on their laptops as
well as on desktops. However, during roaming, the
Internet connectivity won't work at present.
