I Formation
Coach Jeff Teed 1995
We run our base offense out of the I Formation. Reason for this is most teams spread the
defense to prevent the offense from getting out side. When they do this, we run the
middle. When they tighten their defense, we run the sweeps and pitches. In youth
football, if you can run the ball, you will win games.
We run most of our offense from the formation above. We call it Power Right I. From
this we can run dives, blasts, counters, pitches, reverses, sweeps all with a lead block.
Here are a few of our plays. They can be run with the Power Left I formation by moving
the TE to the left side of formation.
Power Right 31 Trap
Power Right 32 Dive
Power Right 32 Trap
Power Right 33 Counter
Power Right 33 Dive
Power Right 33 Trap
Power Right 34 Dive
Power Right 35 Quick Pitch
Power Right 41 Blast
