By Ms. Gizela Gonzalez-Montinola, an ISM Parent
Where the Children Are
started out with a wish to get toknow better the children of our country, the Philippines. We felt it important to be able to listen to children, oftenunheard, and in so doing allow them to tell their stories:a girl who dances in the mountains, a boy who embroiderspiña cloth, children who sell sampaguita, who scavengefor trash, who dive for coins, but also who play classicalviolin under the trees. Many of the children here liveunder trying conditions. Yet they face each day with asteadiness and lack of resentment many adults would behard-pressed to muster.
