Some nouns, many pronouns, and many participle phrases can also act as
adjectives. In the sentence
Eleanor listened to the muffled sounds of the radio hidden under her pillow.

Abundant Light
Empty Many
Few Numerous
Full Sparse
Heavy Substantial
Adjectives of Size
A size adjective, of course, tells you how big or small something
is.
Adjectives of Shapes
Examples:
square, round, flat, rectangular, etc.
Adjectives of Colors
Examples:
blue, pink, reddish, grey.
My car is red
Mike’s house is green and blue
The sky is blue
I have two pink pants.
Color adjectives
Adjectives of Origin
Examples:
French, lunar, American, eastern, Greek.
Examples:
wooden, metal, cotton, paper.
Adjectives of porpuse
A purpose adjective describes what something is used for. These adjectives often
end with "-ing".
Examples:
sleeping (as in "sleeping bag"), roasting (as in "roasting tin")
If the one-syllable adjective ends with an e, just add –r for the comparative form
and –st for the superlative form.
If the one-syllable adjective ends with a single consonant with a vowel before it,
double the consonant and add –er for the comparative form; and double the
consonant and add –est for the superlative form.
Two-syllable adjectives.
With most two-syllable adjectives, you form the comparative with more and the
superlative with most.
If the two-syllable adjectives ends with –y, change the y to i and add –er for the
comparative form. For the superlative form change the y to i and add –est.
The roads in this town are narrower than the roads in the city.
This road is the narrowest of all the roads in California.
Big dogs are gentler than small dogs.
Of all the dogs in the world, English Mastiffs are the gentlest.
For adjectives with three syllables or more, you form the comparative with more
and the superlative with most.
Exceptions.
Irregular adjectives.
