Announcement of the 10th Semifinal of the

Ladies' World Correspondence Chess Championship
Dear chessfriends,
st
The 10th Semifinal of the Ladies‘ World Championship will start on 1 March, 2011, providing that a
sufficient number of qualified entries have been received by that time. Otherwise, the tournament will start as
soon as possible thereafter. The Tournament Director will be IA Mr Ian M. Pheby (ENG).

Conditional upon the number of entries received, the tournament will be played on the ICCF webserver with
sections of between 9 and 13 players.

The revised ICCF Playing Rules & Guidelines for webserver tournaments, as approved by the ICCF
Congress 2010, will apply.

According to para. 1.5.1 of the ICCF Tournament Rules, the following lady players will be entitled to enter
this Semifinal:

(a) the participants of one of the Finals 7 and 8 who have scored at least 30% of the possible points,

(b) the participants of one of the Semifinals 8 and 9 who have scored at least 60% of the possible points,

(c) holders of the title International CC Ladies' Master and other recognized lady players who are entered
through the individual national CC federations.

(d) lady players with fixed ICCF rating 2100+ as at 1st January, 2011.

In addition to these qualified players, each member Federation will be allowed to nominate 1 (one) lady
player for the LWCCC Semi-Finals. Those Federations with 20 or more active lady players (according to the
st
ICCF Rating List at 1 October 2010) may submit 1 (one) more additional nomination whilst those
Federations with 50 or more lady players may submit 2 (two) more additional nominations (please see
attached table).

Nominations and entries should be sent via the national federation, by Email to the ICCF Title Tournaments
Commissioner Marco Caressa (mcaressa@iccf.com), to be received not later than 15th January, 2011.

The entry fee for all participating players is € 15,00 per player, which must be paid in the normal way through
the appropriate national member federations.

Residents in other countries who are not members of any ICCF member federation may pay the entry fees
via the Direct Entry Facility on the ICCF website, provided this has been agreed first by the ICCF Title
Tournaments Commissioner.

To avoid unnecessary confusion and extra correspondence, it is essential that the nominating / entering
federation indicates on which criteria each lady player is qualified to participate in this Semifinal.
We hope for a strong and representative tournament.

AMICI SUMUS!
