A wise man is alone. He is not an intellectual, nor a religious. He sees these kinds of people everywhere. Most words, like those above, are the ramblings of an intellectual. Most metaphysics put forth is the dialogue of a religious or philosophical copycat. The wise man has read many books and knows religion, but his wisdom comes from a contemplative origin. This gives him great sorrow. For the world sees opinion, not truth; relativity, not universality; itself, not God. The wise man has taken the time, made the sacrifice, to look behind the veil. He is alone there, and no amount of regurgitated ramblings will bring you to him. Only sacrifice.

Makes one stop and ponder how many people we know, or think we know, who fall into each of these categories. Very interesting read. Thanks for posting this.

Like to share some relevant quotes (as read from Wikipedia):-

"Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something." -- Plato

"It requires wisdom to understand wisdom: the music is nothing if the audience is deaf." -- Walter Lippmann

hmmm ... let's give ourselves pats on the back for being able to appreciate this scrib by Builder ^_^
(well, I think sometimes I'm in danger of falling into the 'clever' category ... sigh, let live and learn).

Love for wisdom, wishes of Solomon,
love for sophia, building of Utopia.

Bill, those who blind themselves to the truth or refuse to hear the message are never going to grow until they learn the many valuable lessons you've shared with us. How sad is that???

Builder over 2 years ago

Thank you Froggy. You and I both have run into many clever people who believe they know it all, more than anyone else, especially us. They want to tell others everything they need to know, but refuse to accept that the wise person will not tell, but guide.

Froggy over 2 years ago

Bill, thank you for sharing with us an accurate portrayal of these character traits. You are so right when you speak to the wisdom of always trying to grow, seek to improve ones inner self and never cease to learn something about ourselves and this wondrous universe we inhabit.
