In the event of a computer emergency or if you are the victim of rogue technology, immediately call
1 800 GEEK SQUAD (1 800 433 5778) or visit a Geek Squad Precinct inside any Best Buy store
The Geek Squad was a company based in Minneapolis, Minnesota that was founded in 1994 by
Robert Stephens. The company provided computerized technology support.

In 2002, The Geek Squad joined in a partnership with electronics retailer Best Buy and was
integrated into every Best Buy store in North America. Best Buy also uses the Geek Squad name
as one of their house brands for computer accessories.

Geek Squad Precincts exist in all Best Buy stores in the United States and Canada. Geek
Squad also has a series of "stand alone" Precincts called Geek Squad Stores, each employing
full-time employees who specialize in the areas of data rescue and Macintosh-related problems.
The original Geek Squad location in Minneapolis was the first. There are others in Edina, North
Dallas, Park Cities, Frisco, Los Angeles, Madison, Atlanta, Roswell, Duluth (GA), Denver, San
Jose and Santa Monica.

In Florida, Best Buy and Office Depot are involved in a trial partnership, stationing Geek Squad Precincts and products in 11 Office Depot stores. Whether this will be deployed in the 1000+ Office Depot stores or not has yet to be seen.
