The Pixies

Combining jagged, roaring guitars and


stop-start dynamics with melodic pop
hooks, intertwining male-female
harmonies and evocative, cryptic lyrics,
the Pixies were one of the most
influential American alternative rock
bands of the late '80s.

Pixies were significantly more
successful in the UK and elsewhere in
Europe than in their home country.

 1989 - album Doolittle was at 98 on The Billboard 200
 1990 - album Bossanova was at 70 in The Billboard 200
 1991 - album Trompe le Monde was at 92 in The Billboard
200
 2002 - album Pixies was at number 23 in the Top Independent
Albums
 2004 - album Wave of Mutilation reached number 11 in the
Top Independent Albums
 June 2004 they released a single called Bam Thwok which
reached number 1 in the British download chart.
