Cabled Fingerless MittsBy Sharon Hoelzle
Yarn: about 75 yds. of DK weight yarn
Needles: size 6 US DPN’s
 Stitch markersGauge: 5 ½ sts per inch
On three DPN’s , CO 36 stitches.
For
Right Mitt
, divide as follows: N1 & 2
 –
9 sts, N3
 –
18 stsJoin in the round, place stitch marker for start of row
Cuff 
: work 10 rows of 3x3 ribWork 4 rows of Stockinette Stitch (knit every row when knitting in the round since there is no knitting
done on the “wrong side” of work)
 
Begin Cable pattern
:Row 1: K21, P2, slip 4 to cable needle & hold to front of work, K4, K4 from cable needle, P2, K3Rows 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 & 8: K21, P2, K8, P2,K3Repeat these 8 rows a second time
 
 
Begin Thumb Gusset
:Work row 1 of cable patternRow 2: K3, place marker, M1, place marker, K18, P2, K8, P2, K3Row 3: K22 (slip markers as needed), P2, K8, P2, K3Row 4: K3, slip marker (sl m), M1R, K1, M1L, sl m, K18, P2, K8, P2, K3Row 5: K24, P2, K8, P2, K3Row 6: K3, sl m, M1R, K3, M1L, sl m, K18, P2, K8, P2, K3Row 7: K26, P2, K8, P2, K3Row 8: K 3, sl m, M1R, K5, M1L, sl m, K18, P2, K8, P2, K3Continue in this manner until there are 11 stitches between the markers (you should be on Row 4 of thesecond repeat of pattern). Continue working in pattern, remove markers and slip the 11 stitches onto astitch holder and continue knitting joining back into the round.
