Library Feedback October 2010
Your Feedback Our Response
Love this library, like a second office, has been afantastic haven for me, I work alone from homeand here I can concentrate. It is a great resourcefor mental health!I love libraries and I have been in many aroundAustralia. This library is absolutely wonderful. The service in every way is exceptional. I amvery grateful and appreciative.Great serviceThank you for your kind words of praise andappreciation of the library services.
We strive toprovide a warm and welcoming atmosphere forour customers and it is always great to hear fromour satisfied customers.
Love all the library service – thank you; however,I find it appalling that the library is closed for ½day at a time for whatever reason – in this dayand age. It should be open at all times stated, soUniversity students working shift work, mothersworking around children’s sleep times and foodtimes can bank on times stated.Thank you for your feedback, the library isclosed for 2 hours on the first Tuesday of eachmonth for staff training. This ensures that allstaff are able to assist you the borrower with allthe services provided at the library and are up todate with new technology. The opening times are advertised on the frontdoor of the library for our customer’sconvenience. A library is supposed to be somewhere one cango to read or study, somewhere they expect tobe quiet. To hold loud events for children at thelibrary simply spoils it for everyone else, especially during year 12 study for exams. Onecannot concentrate on their studies whenscreaming children are running around the libraryunattended.Libraries have changed over the last few yearsand are now providing more programs andevents, with varying levels of noise. We run a weekly story time in the children’sarea on Thursdays from 11:00am - 11:45am,which can at times add to the noise level. Thisactivity is popular, fun and well attended. Wealso run regular children’s activities duringschool holidays. If you would like to know when it is more likelyto be quiet in the Library, please ask a staffmember. You are welcome to use any of thestudy rooms in the library. Can you please have a rule in the library thatusers of mobile phones go outside to answer andspeak especially if they are using the computers? It is very distracting for the rest of us. Thank youAs part of the library code of conduct, werequest that customers set mobiles to vibrate orsilent. Please advise a library staff member ifyou have any concerns regarding customerbehaviour. Thank you for your feedbackI didn’t like the sticker on the sharps unit in thedisabled. It is not pleasant.Thank you for your feedback, this has now beenattended to.“Frankston Library Service” sticker/label is oftenpasted on printed pages that are meant to beread. I have phoned to mention this issuesometime back, but it persists. Please remedy byplacing any labels / barcodes elsewhere.Thank you for your feedback. There are limitedoptions to placing RFID tags or barcode labelsin our books that can identify them at the pointof borrowing or returning. Wherever possible,we try to avoid covering any printed text. Thanks to the library and Robinsons bookshopfor a great evening and the chance to selectbooks for inclusion in the library. However, I onlyfound out about it by chance by seeing a noticein Robinsons. Were there notices in the library aswell?Thank you for you kind feedback. We are gladyou enjoyed the evening. The library advertisedthis opportunity extensively in the local papers, including a feature article, as well as on postersdisplayed in the library.
