Human capital refers to the knowledge, skills, education, training and capabilities of individuals that have economic value to an organization. 
Human capital is gaining much importance than ever before
Human capital is intangible and elusive
It is so called because human cannot be separated from his skills, knowledgeAnd values they have. 
Education and training are the two important investments in human capital. According to a recent survey by the human resource planning society revealed that65% of responding companies believed that their HR group plays a key role indeveloping human capital. Eg: Boeing satellite systems have created a “lessonslearned architecture” on the Internet where all the areas of the company can store theknowledge they have learned. Employees can also access and use this new codifiedknowledge directly from the Internet. 
DEVELOPING AND MANAGING CAPITAL :
 
To build human capital managers must continue to develop superior knowledge,skills and experience.
Identifying recruiting and hiring the brightest talent available. Managers have toprovide developmental assignments to employees and making job duties andrecruitments more flexible for growth and learning.
Efforts to empower employees and encourage participation.
Developmental assignments like teamwork should be made available toemployees.
MANAGING HUMAN CAPITAL:
Company should stay on track by utilizing the best talent managementprogrammes.
