: Agency Content and Personal Social Media Profiles

PURPOSE
To encourage employees to publish Agency-related content on personal social media profiles withoutconflicting with Agency core values or violating privacy.
SCOPE
This policy applies to all Agency employees.
POLICY
Agency employees may publish Agency-related content on personal social media profiles if said contentdoes not conflict with Agency core values and does not violate the privacy of employees, clients, membersor students of the Agency. Employees should disclose regular Agency-related activity on personal socialmedia profiles to the Department of Marketing and Communication, and allow access to observe saidactivity. Employees should be aware that any content published on a social media profile is inherently public,regardless of privacy settings. The Agency maintains the right to appropriately discipline employees for theimproper publication of Agency-related content on personal social media profiles.
PROCEDURES
Content is Agency-related if it pertains to any Agency activity, program or function. Agency-related contentincludes, but is not limited to photographs, video, information and opinions regarding:
Agency events or activities,
Job functions of Agency employees,
Work conditions,
Agency programs.Publishing Agency-related content on personal social media profiles should be considered a personalexpression by the employee, and should not be a job function or done to further Agency goals, unless theemployee is designated to do so by Marketing and Communication under Policy 420: Agency-ControlledSocial Media Profiles. If not authorized, publishing Agency-related content on personal social media profilesis considered personal use of the Agency Internet network, regulated by IT Policies 308 and 312. If an employee publishes Agency-related content more than three times per month, the employee shouldinform Marketing and Communication of the activity and provide an employee of Marketing andCommunication with access to observe the activity. Marketing and Communication may make suggestionsfor how to present the content, but unless the content is in violation of this policy, the employee is under noobligation to follow the suggestions.
