Soft Sugar Cookies

In a bowl mix:
5 cups flour 1 tsp. baking powder
1 cup sugar 1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda

Cut in:
2 sticks butter

In a separate bowl, beat:

3 eggs ½ cup buttermilk (or regular milk)
1 cup sugar 2 tsp. vanilla

Add to dry ingredients and chill. Roll out on a floured surface and
cut.
Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 8 minutes.

Note: Use this Paint BEFORE you
bake the cookies.

Combine and mix:

2 egg yolks 2 teaspoons of water

Divide paint into several bowls and

tint with liquid food coloring.

Paint onto unbaked cookies with a

paintbrush,
toothpick, or
spoon.

Bake cookies as usual!
