Have I seen others learn to live by love?
Over the years now I have been asked if others have seen what I have done and decided to do the same.In my circle of friends just a few would be my response as I know them first hand but I have had manyother people write me in response to these articles and tell me they have or were going to. I of coursehave no way to directly confirm that but it matters not since everyone does as they are led to do andcertainly are not accountable to me or anyone else to take any path but the one in their life plan. One young man and his wife that I can tell about is one that I have watched now over the years andhave seen first hand. His name is Rhian and he lived with me and my family for about six months. Heenjoyed our home and wanted to talk to me about these kind of issues along with his exodus out of religion. We stayed up many a night discussing the whole idea of serving instead of selling and theinsanity of religion that he had been raised in. I was amazed that at 18 years old he had such clear insight and conviction about all of these things that we spoke about that it seemed to me that he may just walk out what he believedHis girl friend at the time moved to Arizona to live with her father as she wanted no part of the religionthat her mother was part of, it was one of the 39,000 versions of Christianity that are documented. So being a guy that wanted to pursue her he jumped on his motorcycle, some food, a tent, and enoughmoney to buy gas to make the trip from Idaho to Arizona. When he arrived there the first night he setup camp in a field not far from where she was living. After seeing her father and her he figured heshould find someone that could use his time and talent. As he related it to me there was a warehousenot too far away that he stopped in and visited the next day. After finding the owner he said that he wasavailable to help him if he could. The guy said that they were not hiring and there were no jobsavailable. Rhian reiterated that he was not looking for a job but wanted to help him if it was okay andwas not looking to be paid. The owner must have given it some thought and said okay over in thecorner there were a number of crates, boxes and parts that needed to be organized. Rhian said fine andspent the morning and afternoon working on it then saying he would be back the next day. That nightafter visiting with Nicole he slept in his tent again and only had a few dollars for food by this point. The next morning he showed up early for work and as he related this to me and started to notice somethings there. First of all the employees that worked there came up to him and asked him what he wasdoing there as they, like most employees, fear losing their jobs. He reassured them that he was not hired but was just helping out. They all told him they could not understand that but he kept working and theywent back to their tasks. Rhian said there were security cameras all over the warehouse and all theemployees had a phone on their belts. If anyone sat down when it was not lunch or an official break their phone would ring and the office would want to know why they were not working. He of coursedid not have a phone since he was not on the clock.During the lunch break all of the employees spent a lot of time griping about the work conditions, hours, and how much they were getting paid. Rhian pretty much kept to himself but over heard themand at one point he said they asked him what his deal was. He would smile and just say he didn't haveone which just seemed to confuse them even more. Well after a few days the owner took him aside andtold him what a great job he was doing and started to give him some other projects. He usually gotthere earlier and sometimes stayed later than the others but he told me how happy he was just making adifference there doing the work that would be considered by most to be grunt work. This went on for
