What do we build?
Houses, of course.Or housing solutions, the current term forthe physical work: new construction of single-and multifamily houses, rehabs, repairs, incre-mental building—an upgraded oor or a newroof until a family can aord more.But Habitat for Humanity builds so muchmore. Disaster recovery toolkits and shelters,weatherization, water and sanitation projects,housing micronance systems, schools andcommunity buildings are also part of thephysical work of Habitat.Habitat also builds in the mind and spirit:community, relationships, friendship, families,health, partnerships that grow to coalitionsthat revive neighborhoods, tolerance amongdierent faiths and ethnicities, training inconstruction skills, training in nancial andlegal literacy, advocates to speak for a worldwhere everyone has a decent place to live.And Habitat for Humanity never builds
for
anyone, but
with
, working alongside thosewho need shelter. Tat builds or rekindles thesense of the dignity all human beings share.Habitat for Humanity, through the grace of God, is building a dierent world, a better world.
