Nu demult, am citit o reflecŃie a lui Paul Valéry care mi-a inspirat rândurile de faŃă. Ea sună în traducere
liberă cam aşa :
Însă raŃiunea cu care le amestecăm nu trebuie să ne fure visul de a le dărui celorlalŃi o lume mai
frumoasă.
Recently, I have read a reflection by Paul Valéry which has inspired me to write this text. In a free
translation, it was something like this:
“… Original creation is triggered under conditions of coercion and degrades itself in the state of
freedom!”
But the fact that we are mixing them rationally shouldn't deprive us from the dream of offering to others
a more beautiful world.
By contrast, total freedom is like the confusion of having to build a house in the middle of a desert.
With no landmarks, it's …… pure randomness.
A century changes its heading for many times, and recent architecture testifies.
The moral of architectural history can be reduced to the paraphrase of a famous quote:
A. Concept
Activitatea de proiectare a anului 3 se desfăşoară în cadrul atelierului de proiectare (forma integratoare de
reprezentare şi concepere a viitorului obiect de arhitectură).
Programa analitică pentru anul 3 urmăreşte un pachet de exigenŃe conceptuale, ce se materializează în:
înŃelegerea arhitecturii drept una dintre formele complexe de ARTĂ;
punerea în evidenŃă a unui echilibru ponderat între metodele de generare a imaginilor de arhitectură,
de la forme ideale pure (cu conotaŃii de abordare estetică) la forme strict utilitare;
însuşirea de către studenŃi a elementelor de limbaj arhitectural element, volum, spaŃiu exterior,
formă, funcŃiune;
stimularea creativităŃii, ca scop major.
Fiecare coordonator de atelier îşi conturează propria sa metodă de îndrumare, care se înscrie însă într-o
metodologie generală de instruire obligatorie.
B. ConŃinut
Proiectul de arhitectură realizează, în cadrul unei simulări complexe, apropierea dintre o ipoteză de lucru
(exigenŃe sociale, cadru urban existent sau cadru natural, structuri de rezistenŃă, reglementări urbanistice şi
tehnice, materiale şi texturi, culoare etc.) şi logica unui sistem compoziŃional ales de către autor.
Tematica disciplinei Proiectare : ARHITECTURA MEDIULUI ÎNCONJURĂTOR, LOCUINłA ŞI ORAŞUL.
Titlurile proiectelor: Cultură, Turism, Locuire colectivă.
SchiŃa de schiŃă
Tematica şi titlurile schiŃelor:
Turism (pavilion pentru ceai), Cultură (afiş, spaŃiu pentru evenimente artistice etc.), LocuinŃa (locuinŃă de vacanŃă
la mare, mobilare pentru un spaŃiu de locuit etc.).
C. Obiective generale
definirea volumului elementelor constitutive ale unei construcŃii de arhitectură;
punerea în evidenŃă a relaŃiei dintre volume, ritm, scară şi luminozitate;
rolul structurii de rezistenŃă în definirea configuraŃiei spaŃiale din calculul funcŃiunii (locuire, agrement
etc.);
legătura indisolubilă dintre expresie şi stil;
însuşirea progresivă a „gramaticii” de exprimare în cadrul discursului arhitectural;
formarea gândirii proiective;
însuşirea unor reguli de compoziŃie, de combinare a formelor (alăturare, articulare, segmentare,
deformare etc.);
familiarizarea cu principiile arhitecturii ecologice, sustenabile.
D. Metodologie
Forma de predare :
Prelegeri şi susŃineri în fiecare săptămână, în prima şedinŃă de atelier;
Însuşirea unui material documentar obligatoriu;
Dobândirea capacităŃilor de reprezentare, prin exerciŃii de desen, grafică, culoare sau machete şi
simulare pe calculator;
Prezentarea unei mape de studiu individual;
SusŃinerea liberă a lucrării propuse de către student, ce se constituie într-o iniŃiere în critica de
arhitectură;
Dezvoltarea posibilităŃilor de explicare teoretică de către studenŃi a soluŃiilor arhitecturale propuse.
Proiectele sunt îndrumate continuu pe perioada realizării studiului.
A. Concept
The 3rd year architectural design activity takes place within the studio (an integrated frame for representing and
designing the architectural object).
The syllabus of the 3rd year seeks the fulfillment of conceptual requirements, which are represented by:
understanding of architecture as a complex form of ART;
highlighting a weighted balance between architectural images generative methods, from pure
(aesthetically connoted) ideal forms towards strictly utilitarian ones;
assimilating the architectural language elements element, volume, exterior space, form, function;
encouraging creativity, as a major aim.
Each studio coordinator outlines his specific guidance method within a generally required teaching methodology.
B. Content
The architectural project connects (in a complex simulation) a working hypothesis (social demands, urban or
natural environment, structures, urban and technical regulations, materials and textures, color, etc.) to each
student's compositional logic.
Themes of the Architectural Design course: ARCHITECTURE OF THE ENVIRONMENT, DWELLING AND CITY.
Project titles: Culture, Tourism, Collective dwelling.
1-day projects
Themes and titles:
Tourism (tea pavilion), Culture (poster, art events space, etc.), Housing (country house at the seaside, interior
design for a dwelling space, etc.).
C. General objectives
defining the architectural object's volumetric configuration;
highlighting the relationship between volumes, rhythm, scale, and luminosity;
structural system's role in defining the spatial configuration, also considering the functional
calculations (dwelling, leisure activities, etc.);
the indissoluble link between expression and style;
progressive assimilation of the communicational "grammar" in the architectural discourse;
shaping of projective thinking;
acquiring rules of composition and of shape combination (juxtaposition, articulation, segmentation,
deformation, etc.);
being acquainted with the principles of green, sustainable architecture.
D. Methodology
Teaching forms:
Lectures and students' presentations in the first class of each week;
Getting information from the compulsory documentation;
Acquisition of representational skills, through drawing exercises, graphic and color studies, model
making and computer simulations;
Presentation of an individual study portfolio;
Individual public presentation of each student's work, which is meant to be an introduction to
architectural critique;
Development of students' abilities to explain theoretically their architectural propositions.
Projects are guided continuously through the duration of study.
PREZENTAREA STUDENTULUI:
Prin propunerea facuta in cazul pavilionului din Piata Unirii, am incercat sa
produc un impact asemanator cu acela produs de bradul de Craciun amplasat
cu un an in urma in acelasi loc - dar la o scara mult mai redusa. De aceea am
optat pentru un accent vertical cu rol de semnal, care impreuna cu albul
membranei care acopera structura, fac pavilionul vizibil in spatiul pietei. In ceea
ce priveste forma, accentul vertical, care la interior delimiteaza spatiul
expozitional, creeaza un dialog cu forma sa negativa, alveolara, marcand
intrarea. Pentru a pastra caracterul temporar al pavilionului am ales o structura
metalica, imbracata intr-o membrana PVC translucida.
STUDENT’S PRESENTATION:
In order to create a similar (but much lower) impact as the one produced by the
Christmas tree one year ago in the same Unirii square, my proposal for the
pavilion followed some parameters. This is why I've chosen a vertical accent
playing the role of a signal, which along the white of the membrane covering the
structure, make the pavilion visible in the square. The formal concept was
guided by the vertical accent which borders the interior exhibition place and
establishes a dialog with its negative, alveolate form, marking the entrance. In
order to keep the temporary character of the pavilion, I've chosen a metallic
structure, covered by a translucent PVC membrane.

CLUB ECOLOGIC SNAGOV /ECO-PARK SNAGOV-33B
The study is ment to explore low tech architecture and sustainable development
proposing alternative solution to build a ECO-CENTER for a young group of eco
militants.The site is near Bucharest, 35 km on DN1 speedway, on a green and
unbuilt site near Snagov lake.The club is the first phase of development an it
consists on a number of workshop spaces, a technical room for experimental
techniques and equipments, a conference room for 100 people and a small
cafeteria towards the lake.The club should be organised as a one or two levels
building, and must use local techniques and materials in a rather low-tech
intervention.
PREZENTAREA STUDENTULUI:
Eco club Snagov isi propune sa fie o „constructie ecologica” inca de la alegerea
sitului. Aflat in vecinatatea lacului Snagov, clubul este destinat unui grup de
activisti ecologisti.
Obiectul propus se bucura de avantajele unui sit liber, ce nu este constrans de
existenta altor cladiri. Compozitia este ampla si propune un volum dominant
circular, destinat activitatilor principale si un traseu directionat, de-a lungul celor
doua maluri, de care se agata atelierele de lucru.
Proiectul propune asigurarea conditiilor de functionare pe cat posibil prin
tehnici, metode si materiale ecologice. Materialele de baza propuse spre
utilizare sunt: lemnul, sticla, piatra naturala.
STUDENT’S PRESENTATION:
Eco Club Snagov aims to be an "ecological building" right from the choice of the
site. Located nearby Snagov Lake, the club is to be used by a group of eco-
militants.
The proposed subject enjoys the advantages of a free site, which is not
constrained by any other surrounding buildings. Its compounding is ample and
suggests a dominant circular volume dedicated to the main activities and a route
alongside the two borders of the lake, which the workshops cling onto.
The project proposes proper working facilities as much as possible through
ecological techniques, methods and materials. The raw materials proposed are:
wood, glass, and natural stone.

descoperirea unui spatiu cultural dinamic si deschiderea unei arte restranse si
specializate inspre publicul multivalent al culturii de azi; adoptarea de către
individ a unui comportament interactiv şi a unei dispoziŃii de reacŃie spontană la
experienŃele propuse; participarea directa a publicului larg la fenomenul cultural

Site:

urbane: urbanismul transpunand sentimentele esentiale in aglomerari citadine.
Proiectul propune o structura moderna, dinamica, ce doreste a fi o intretesere
intre miscare si sunet. In acest context , parcusul/traseul are un rol important in
configurarea spatiului interior, care permite circulatia libera de la o incapere la
alta. Configurarea intregii cladiri rezulta si din incercarea de stabilire a unui
dialog urban cu restul tesutului/orasului.
STUDENT’S PRESENTATION:
The modern contemporary dance adopts urban themes in most shows,
transposing urbanism with it's attitudes and mentality into artistic expression.
This project proposes a modern, dynamic structure to reflect the interweaving of
movement and sound. In this context, the flow of space has an important role in
shaping the interior volume, allowing a free passage from one room to another.
The final structure is also a result of a spacial integration within the rest of the
area.

PENSIUNE TURISTICĂ LA BREAZA / TOURISTIC PENSION AT BREAZA - 32B
Situl propus se afla in localitatea Breaza, jud. Prahova. Terenul este in panta si
are o suprafata de 2500 mp. Tema de proiectare face parte din programul
turistic/cazare temporara si propune configurarea unei pensiuni ce va include
urmatoarele functiuni:
Zona de acces va include receptie, spatiu asteptare si birou administrator.
Spatiul comun de petrecere a timpului liber este o trasatura caracteristica a
programului de pensiune, putand include spatii pentru bar, discutii si TV si
aflandu-se in directa legatura cu un spatiu exterior.
Spatiul pentru servirea mesei este dimensionat pentru 25 - 30 de persoane si
poate fi extins catre exterior printr-o terasa in aer liber.
Spatiul de cazare format din minim 8 / maxim 10 unitati, cu doua paturi sau cu
pat dublu, vestibul, spatii de depozitare si baie.
Spatiile anexe vor cuprinde spatii de depozitare, spalator si uscator rufe,
camera centrala, vestiar personal.
The proposed site it's located in Breaza, Prahova. The sloping terrain has a
2500 mp area. The project task belongs to the touristic programme/ temporary
accommodation, proposing a pension configuration that will include the
following functions:
The access area has a reception, a waiting room and the administrator's office.
The common room for leisure activities can include a bar, discussion and TV, in
direct connection with the exterior.
The dinning room area is dimensioned for 25- 30 people and can be extended
with an outdoor terrace.
8-10 unites form the accommodation space, with 2 beds/ double bed, entrance
hall, depositing space and bathroom.
Annexes include depositing spaces, washer and drier, central room and
personal locker room.
PREZENTAREA STUDENTULUI:
Provocarea proiectului a fost de a creea o pensiune cu un minim impact asupra
peisajui, profitand de trasaturile cadrului natural. Conceptul se bazeaza pe
salvarea belvederii initiale pe care insusi situl o propune. Acoperisul devine o
extensie a partii inalte a terenului, camufland aproape in totalitate cladirea.
Spatiul de cazare este divizat in cinci unitati, cate doua camere cuplate pe
verticala, cu o tratare aparte datorata importantei lor in cadrul pensiunii.
Echidistanta fata de zona comuna este realizata prin pozitionarea holul la nivel
intermediar. Interactiunea volume- natura este una dinamica, bazata pe usoara
glisare si detasare, accentuandu-se fluiditatea spatiului verde. Folosirea
materialelor natural,traditionale la exterior subliniaza zonele cu functiuni
diferite.
STUDENT’S PRESENTATION:
The challenge of this project was to create a pension with minimal impact while
making the most of the setting's physical features. The concept is based on
rescuing the initial view that the site itself proposes. The roof becomes an
extension of the high part of the land, almost completely camouflaging the
building. The accommodation space is divided in five unites, with two rooms for
unit, vertically combined, with a special treating due to their importance as part
of the project. The equidistance to the common area is achieved by positioning
the hall at an intermediary level. The interaction between volumes and nature is
a dynamic one, based on the slightly gliding and detaching, accentuating the
green space fluidity. Using natural, traditional materials on the outside
distinguishes areas with different functions.
PREZENTAREA STUDENTULUI:
In continuarea proiectului de Muzeu, pensiunea propusa este integrata in ideea
ca Mogosoaia este o succesiune de curti interioare in padure. Trecand prin
muzeu, in parcursul spre gradiniile engleze ale palatului, vizitatorul trece prin
curtea dintre cele doua cladiri afundandu-se din nou in padure, unde gaseste o
cutie de sticla plasata pur si simplu intre copaci, ingloband o parte dintre ei,
astfel el isi continua drumul prin pensiune fara a parasi vre-un moment padurea.
Camerele sunt pozitionate asemena unor ramuri de copaci iesind din cutia de
sticla, iar in locul balcoanelor vizitatorul primeste o extensie de sticla a camerei
care il invita la o plimbare printre ramurile copacilor.
In definitiv in proiect nu este vorba despre altceva decat parcurgerea spatiului
minunat care este Mogosoaia.
STUDENT’S PRESENTATION:
As part two of the Mogosoaia project the small hotel is integrated in the concept
of Mogosoaia being a series of inner courts in the forest. After strolling through
the museum and the courtyard between them, the visitor goes back in the forest
where he finds a glass box enclosing some of the trees thus one can walk
through the hotel without ever leaving the forest, maintaining his parcour
towards the english palace gardens.
The rooms are positioned as tree branches coming out of the glass box, and
instead of balconies the visitor has a long glass extension witch give him the
opportunity of walk thru the tree canopy.
In conclusion, the project is all about the parcour of the wonderful space that is
Mogosoaia.

High-density dwellings
In order to avoid uncontrolled splitting of the city into natural environment we can
make grow our cities by developing the very inside of the city itself. We talk about
balancing density in those areas of the city which have such a low density that
we can scarcely call them urban places, in which infrastructure is almost
unused. High-density housing is an important support of these developments
inside the city.
By integrating housing with other programs we can create neighbourhoods
which become poles of interest, opportunities of cultural and social growth,
poles of urbanity, and most important, areas of „city centre”.
The result should be a mixture of private and public or half public spaces created
to encourage the spatial, functional, cultural, social, etc., qualities of life in the
city. It should be another kind of public space: „the everyday public space”,
pleasant for any person, place in which each person has the liberty to participate
or not at social and cultural sharing.
PREZENTAREA STUDENłILOR:
Ideea de la care am pornit a fost obtinerea unei incinte privilegiate, bordata

parcarii subterane. Platforma se dizolva progresiv catre spatiul comun al strazii.
Incintele-gradini cu rol tematic din cadrul platformei, precum si terasele comune
decupate in volumul blocului bara permit inter-relationarea dintre locuitori,
pentru socializare si loisir.
STUDENTS’ PRESENTATION:
The idea from which we started was to obtain a privileged precinct, visually
bordered with a block type bar P+7 on Brasov str., and with a commercial area
open to the promenade that connects the park on the 1st May street. The other
houses are villas, with duplexes of 2, 3 or 4 bedrooms. The enclosure is made by
a raised platform, creating a semi-private area for all residents and including the
functional role of underground parking. The platform gradually dissolves itself
into the street. Themed gardens cut out in the platform, and common terraces
cut in the block allow inter-relating between people, for socializing and leisure.

PREZENTAREA STUDENłILOR:
Proiectul nostru isi propune sa functioneze asemeni vechiului „pol urban” ce
antrena intreaga zona, fabrica Tricodava. Astfel fabrica a fost transformata intr-o
gradina, ce reprezinta punctul de plecare pentru intregul proiect, parcul
infiltrandu-se in mijlocul locuintelor si raspandindu-se apoi in directiile adiacente
sitului. Gradina separa si uneste, aduna si disperseaza, apartine locuitorilor si
deopotriva orasului. Pentru a oferi unitate ansamblului, proiectul se bazeaza pe
ideile de mixitate si de proximitate. Astfel locuirea se combina cu zona de loisir,
de comert, recreere, creand asfel oportunitati pentru comunicare, schimb,
cooperare, incurajandu-se asadar formarea unei comunitati.
STUDENTS’ PRESENTATION:
Our project's purpose is to act in a similar manner to the old “urban pole” that
used to stimulate the entire area, Tricodava Industry. Therefore, the old
manufacture has been transformed in a garden which represents the start point
for the entire project. As a result the park is being infused in the middle of the
dwellings and afterwards defused in all directions. The garden separates and
brings together, assembles, agglomerates and scatters, disperses. It belongs to
the “neighbors” and to the “city”. In order to achieve unity, the project is based on
the ideas of mixing and proximity. Therefore, the ensemble combines living with
recreation, work, “loisir”, creating opportunities for communication, exchange,
trade, cooperation, and thus encourages the bounding of a community.
