Model atom Dalton
Atom of each element are all identical to one another, but different from the atoms of all other
element
Atom of different elements can combine to form more complex substances.
continue),tapi spectrum unsur berbentuk spectrum garis. According with
electromagnetic waves theory, during revolving the nucleus, electron will emit electromagnetic
waves (light) continually, but element’s spectrums are line spectrum
Beside that Rutherford’s atomic theory is inability to ex Plain the occurring (terjadinya) of
hydrogen atom line spectrum.
Observations
Most of the alpha particles pass straight through the gold foil.
Some of the alpha particles get deflected by very small amounts.
A very few get deflected greatly.
Even fewer get bounced of the foil and back to the left.
Conclusions
The deflection of the alpha particle through large angles and even bouncing off
the gold foil is best described by the animation below. Keep in mind that the
gold nuclei have a charge of +79 and the alpha particle has a charge of +2.
(remember your electrostatics) These two positive charges repel each other.
The closer they get, the greater the force. The greater the force, the greater the
amount of deflection.
Erwin Schrödinger built upon the thoughts of Bohr yet took them in a new
direction. He developed the probability function for the Hydrogen atom (and a
few others). The probability function basically describes a cloud-like region
where the electron is likely to be found. It can not say with any certainty,
where the electron actually is at any point in time, yet can describe where it
ought to be. Clarity through fuzziness, is one way to describe the idea. The
model based on this probability equation can best be described as
the cloud model.

question:
classify the following atoms into isotop, isobar and isoton!
16
O ,15N, 14N, 14C, 18O, 16C
8 7 7 6 8 6
For beginning the elements are grouped on their metallic properties base only, those are became the
metallic elements, non metallic elements and metalloid elements(semi metallic). However , then elements
grouped in periodic table base on atomic number and mass number of that elements. The following are
explanations about history of element grouping development since early until present.
1.Triade by douberiner
In 1829 Dobereiner tried to classify the element based on their atomic mass, He had succeeded to observe
that certain elements with closely similar properties occur in a group of element called triads
According to dobereiner , if a triad consist of elements A , B, C , so the average sum of atomic mass of A
and C is equal to the atomic mass of B. In this case, A, B and C are similar in properties.
Ex. Chlorine, bromine and Iodine: 35Cl, 80Br , 127I
Calcium , strontium and barium
2.Octav by Newlands
In 1864 , Newlands listed the element in the other base on the increase of atomic weight and He noted that
a given properties of the elements in the list, recurs at every eighth element. He called Law of Octaves
disebut hukum oktav
1H 2 Li 3 Be 4B 5C 6N 7O
8F 9 Na 10 Mg 11 Al 12 Si 13 P 14 S
15Cl 16 K 17 Ca 18 Ti 19 Cr 20 Mn 21 Fe
22 Co &Ni 23 Cu 24 Zn 25 Y 26 In 27 As 28 Se
Mendeleev
In 1870, Mendeleev clssify 66 elements based on the increase of their atomic mass, but 1871 he revised his
periodic table, that is by give a place elements having similar properties in a column called group
Please open your book page 26
Modern Periodic table ( Long form periodic table/periodic table bentuk panjang)
In 1914, Henry Moseley found that the properties of element are periodic function of the atomic number.
Base on that case , so the sort form periodic table developed become the long form periodic table, then this
periodic table completed become the modern periodic table ratified (disahkan) its use by IUPAC in 1923

meningkat menyebabkan jari-jari atom semakin kecil.
jari atom mempengaruhi besarnya energi ionisasi. Semakin besar jari-jari atom maka
semakin stabil.
Afinitas elektron golongan 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 dan 7
Keelektronegatifan
Elektronegatifitas
a
Keelektronegatifan skala Pauling
Keelektronegatifan
skala pauling memberikan nilai keelektronegatifan untuk gas mulia sebesar nol.
