Since 2009 El Charco del Ingenio haspartnered with
Denver Botanic Gardens
 to offer Botanical Art and Illustration coursesin San Miguel de Allende. The classes are forthe dedicated illustrator, as well as the devotedamateur.Denver Botanic Gardens’ program contributesto a long history of botanical illustration,an art form that blends scientic exactitudewith creative self-expression. This programprovides a comprehensive course study,offering drawing and painting skills requiredto render accurate and useful depictions ofthe plant world.Illustration courses at El Charco qualify forcredits within the
Botanical Art and IllustrationProgram
at Denver Botanic Gardens, Denver,Colorado.
El Charco del Ingenio
is a nature reserve andbotanical garden in San Miguel de Allende,GTO, covering 167 acres and dedicated tothe restoration and conservation of its nativeecosystems. It has the second largest collectionof cacti in Mexico, many of which are rareor in danger of extinction. It is a communitygathering space with historical and spiritualsignicance and offers many educational andrecreational activities for all sectors of society.
