Fixed issues
This section lists fixed and closed issues between the BlackBerry® Desktop Software 1.04. build 17 and the BlackBerry Desktop Software 2.0.0build 64.The encryption of BlackBerry device backups may have left the backup files vulnerable to a brute force password attempt by a malicious userif the malicious user had access to the files. The updated version of the BlackBerry Desktop Software includes changes to the method used togenerate the encryption key that encrypts the BlackBerry device backup file. The BlackBerry Desktop Software 2.0 uses multiple iterations of the method to generate the encryption key, to help improve resistance against brute force attacks on the encrypted backup file. (DT 908043)If you tried to add BlackBerry® Device Software to a BlackBerry® Curve™ 9300 smartphone that didn't have any software, the BlackBerryDesktop Software didn't recognize that device. Known issues

After updating from the previous version of the BlackBerry Desktop Software, the phone number for the Apple Assistant in your contactsswitches fields but you didn't make that change. (DT 1012344)If you connect a device with BlackBerry® Device Software 4.1 or lower, you don't receive a message that the device is unsupported. (DT 890537)If you're connecting a new device, the BlackBerry Desktop Software becomes unresponsive if you quit the application with Command + Q orthe X button before the new device screen appears. (DT 754392)Workaround: Perform a force quit and open the BlackBerry Desktop Software again.When you uninstall the BlackBerry Desktop Software, you aren't prompted to restart your computer. (DT 711322)
When you try to add an application that is not compatible with your BlackBerry Device Software, you receive a message that the applicationis corrupted. (DT 916309)Your computer goes into sleep mode when loading applications and restoring data to your device fails. (DT 633954)Workaround: Manually restore any missing databases to your device.You receive the following error message when you try to update your device with a slow Internet connection: " BlackBerry Desktop Softwarefailed to validate your BlackBerry device update."
