Where is heaven located?
 By Jeremy Kapp
This study will not only explain the location of Heaven, but also every other resting placefor the dead.
Note: Hades in the New Testament is the same place as Sheol in the Old Testament.
Luke 16:19-31 (NIV)
The Rich Man and Lazarus
19
"There wasa rich manwho was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day.
20
At his gate was laida beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores
21
and longing to eat what fellfrom the rich man's table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.
22
"The time came when the beggar died and theangels carried him to Abraham's side. The richman also died and was buried.
23
In Hades, where he was in torment,he looked up and sawAbraham far away, with Lazarus by his side.
24
So he called to him, 'Father Abraham, have pityon me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am inagony in this fire.'
25
"But Abraham replied, 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony.
26
And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, so that those who want to gofrom here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.'
27
"He answered, 'Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my father's house,
28
for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.'
29
"Abraham replied, 'They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.'
30
" 'No, father Abraham,' he said, 'but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.'
31
"He said to him, 'If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convincedeven if someone rises from the dead.' "

Here you can see that Hades is a place that contains both Abraham¶s side, (which is calledParadise elsewhere«)
and
the other side, the place of torment, which is called Gehennaelsewhere. Notice there is a great chasm between the two, also called the pit of Hades elsewhere.

For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them tothe pit, putting them intochains of darkness to be held for judgment;Unlike the souls of evil
 people
, fallen angels and demons seem to always go into the
 pit
of Hades.
Revelation 20:11-15 (NIV)
The Dead Are Judged
11
Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. Earth and sky fled from his presence, and there was no place for them.
12
AndI saw the dead, great and small, standing beforethe throne, and books were opened.Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had doneas recorded in the books.
13
The seagave upthe dead that were in it,and death and Hadesgave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done.
14
Thendeath and Hades were thrown into thelake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death.
15
If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
D
eath gives up its dead? Sounds like people¶s lives are brought to an end.Hades gives up its dead? Sounds like Paradise and Gehenna are judged from the book of life«and yes, people in Hades do have eternal life, as long as their name is in the Book of Life. These people are on Abraham¶s side of Hades. Then death is thrown into the lake of fire? Time to wear the incorruptible bodies.

Hades is thrown into the lake too, however the second resurrection is when the people in the book of life are taken to the new Earth to reign with Christ forever« and we saw how many of these guys came from Paradise, which exists full of people until the very end.It certainly seems that Paradise is full of people right up to the very end, even
a short time
after the 1000 year reign.(Below is the entry from Wikipedia.com)
The phrase "
Bosom of Abraham
" refers to the place of comfort in sheol (Greek:
Hades
)
where the Jewssaid the righteous dead awaited Judgment Day. Here, the righteous occupied an abode or compartmentof their own which was distinctly separated by a wall or a chasm from the abode or compartment towhich the wicked were consigned. The latter was a place of torments usually spoken of as Gehenna - theother, a place of bliss and security known under the names of "Paradise" (cf. Luke 23:43
)
or "the Bosomof Abraham" (Luke 16:22-23
)
.
It appears that Christians still go to Paradise until the Great
