Glasby's paper does not show that hydrocarbons are abiogenic - it shows exactly the opposite.

Of course natural hydrocarbons such as oil and natural gas are abiogenic. Carbon is the fourth element in cosmological abundance. Where are carbon and hydrocarbons in universe? Surely they are abundant in primordial nebula that formed solar system. They are also within the earth in huge ammounts and satelites as Titan (saturn moon) and comets, carbonaceous meteorites, ecc. Sometimes they comes up from earth's mantle with helium and nitrogen that are driven gases. Also bring diamondoids from mantle. When they reach lower levels at low pressures in crust as sedimentary basins form oil pools. Bacteria eat hydrocarbons and leave their parts in oil that are contaminants. Indeed oil is not a fossil (sic) fuel and there's no peak oil.
