4. How long were these gifts toremain in His church?
“Ti we a come to the unity of the faithand of the knowedgeof the Son of God, toa perfect man, to themeasure of the statureof the funess of Christ”(Ephesians 4:13).
They will remain until God’s peopleare all unified, mature Christians—which, of course, will be at the end of time.
5. From what source do trueprophets obtain their information?
“Prophecy neer came by the wi of man, but hoy menof God spoke as they were moed by the Hoy Spirit”(2 Peter 1:21).
In some Bible versions, it says thatprophets speak as they are “moved by the Holy Ghost.” The word “ghost”comes from “ghast,” the old English word for “spirit,” so today we usually say Holy“Spirit.” Prophets do not express their own private opinions in spiritual matters. Theirthoughts come from Jesus, through the Holy Spirit.

“If there is a prophet among you, I, the

Visions, dreams, or face to face.

“And it sha come to pass in the ast days, says God, that I wi pour out of My Spirit on a fesh; your sonsand your daughters sha prophesy” (Acts 2:17).
Yes, both men and women will prophesy in the last days (Joel 2:28-32).
2. Jesus at His ascensionplaced the gift of “prophets”in His church, along withfour other gifts: apostles, evangelists, pastors, andteachers (Ephesians 4:7-11).Why did God place these giftsin the church?3. In Bible days, was the gift ofprophecy limited to men?
No! In addition to many menwho had the gift of prophecy, God alsogave the gift to at least eight women: Anna(Luke 2:36-38); Miriam (Exodus 15:20);Deborah (Judges 4:4); Huldah (2 Kings22:14); and the four daughters of Philip,an evangelist (Acts 21:8, 9).
God usually speaks to a prophetthrough visions and dreams.
“For the equipping of the saints for thework of ministry, for the edifying of thebody of Christ” (Ephesians 4:12).
Jesus gave all five giftsfor the perfecting of the saints. The perfecting of God’s end-timechurch is not possible if any of these five gifts is missing.
