250 300 word essays are expected to be written with topics ranging from those of
social relevance to propositions to abstract. The essay topic in XAT 2010 was, E

Marks allocation
Correct attempt : 1 mark
Incorrect attempt : negative 0.20 (for first 5 wrong answers in each section), n
egative 0.25 (for subsequent wrong answers)

Data Interpretation & Quantitative Ability (40 Questions) : 40 Marks
Analytical Reasoning & Decision making (30 questions) : 30 Marks

To crack XAT it is very important to understand the XAT 2011 paper. Look for cha
nges in the pattern of XAT 2011 exam by comparing with previous year papers. As
per the sources XAT had more questions than the CAT exam to be solved in lesser
time in recent past and in XAT it is more advisable to drop tough questions, and
find the easier ones to solve first.Thus, selection of easier questions is very
important.
