2009 Emission Estimates

The time is approaching for you to submit your facility's 2009 emission estimates for annual operating permit fees (Title V). For your convenience, a report of your facility's previous year's emissions submitted to this agency is enclosed. In accordance with ADEM Admin. Code R. 335-1-7-.05, emission estimates are due on or before June 30, 2010. The fee for this year likely will be between $33 and $37 per ton. Please do not send payment with the emission estimates. Invoices will be mailed in September, 2010, assessing actual fees due.

Please follow the enclosed "Pollutant Reporting Guidance" when reporting 2009 emissions. As was the case last year, we have combined reporting efforts under Title V and the Air Emissions Reporting Requirements Rule (AERR) to reduce your reporting burden. In accordance with the AERR, carbon monoxide (CO) and ammonia (NH3) emissions should be reported even though they are not subject to fees. Please note that the AERR also requires that fine particulates (PM2.5) and PMI0 emissions be reported in addition to total particulates (PM). Also, emissions of hazardous air pollutants should be reported as discrete compounds, as was the case last year.
