Define Scope is the process of developingdetailed description of the project and product.Detailed project scope is critical to projectsuccess and builds up on major deliverables. So,incomplete project scope can be a problem tothe project, because the deliverables may besorted out from the customer expectation.During the planning, define Scope subdivides the major project deliverables into smallerand more manageable components when more information about the project is known,that may provide the following benefits:
 
Improve the accuracy of time, cost, and resource estimates.
 
Detail the baseline for performance measurement and control.
 
Determine specific responsibility assignments.
INPUT: Define ScopeOrganizational Process Assets:
This will be the assets of the organization that will be used for the project; for example,accounting department for payroll and accounts payable, human resource department forhiring and supporting staff on the project, and Mechanical shop for equipment repairs.These assets must be identified and a clear written statement describing how the differentdepartments and equipment will be used. This must to be signed off by each of the keystakeholders concerned.
