Description

This PhD thesis describes in detail the first implementation of a 6-bit digital transducer array loudspeaker prototype (no standard DAC in the audio chain), together with predictions and simulations of total harmonic distortion over the whole space, leading to parameter estimation for future system improvements. The prototype implements no standard digital-to-analogue conversion, which occurs directly from array elements radiating digital signals into the air.
