image processing is any form of signal processing for which the input is an imag
e, such as a photograph or video frame;
the output of image processing may be either an image or, a set of characteristi cs or parameters related to the image. Most image-processing techniques involve treating the image as a two-dimensional signal and applying standard signal-processing techniques to it. 1-Image acquisition 2-image enhancement 3-image restoration 4-color image processing 5-wavelets and multiresolution processing 6-compression 7-morphological processing 8-segmentation 9-representation and description 10-object recognition
Image Acquisition-digital image acquisition is the creation of digital images, t
ypically from a physical scene. The term is often assumed to imply or include the processing,compression, storag e, printing, and display of such images. Image Enhancement-Objective of enhancement is to process image so that result is more suitable than original image for specific application. Enhancement approaches fall into two broad categories: spatial domain : direct manipulation of pixels in an image frequency domain : manipulation of fourier transform of an image. Image Differencing-Image differencing is an image processing technique used to d etermine changes between images. T he difference between two images is calculated by finding the difference between each pixel in each image, and generating an image based on the result. For this technique to work, the two images must first be aligned so that corresponding points coincide, and their photometric values must be made compatible, either by careful calibrat ion, or by post-processing (using color mapping). The complexity of the pre-processing needed before differencing varies with the type of image. Object Recognition-Object recognition in computer vision is the task of finding a given object in an image or video sequence App-Face Detection Optical Character Recognition

Morphing-Morphing is a special effect in motion pictures and animations that cha
nges (or morphs) one image into another through a seamless transition Segmentation-segmentation refers to the process of partitioning a digital image into multiple segments (sets of pixels, also known as superpixels). The goal of segmentation is to simp lify and/or change the representation of an image into something that is more meaningful and easier to analyze. Image segmentation is typically used to locate objects and boundaries (lines, cu rves, etc.) in images. More precisely, image segmentation is the process of assigning a label to every pixel in an image such that pixels with the same label share certain visual characteristics. image restoration: A process by which a degraded image is restored to its original condition. Image restoration is possible only to the extent that the degradation transform is mathematically invertible.
