It may be said that there is NO conflict–of–interest between the

funding of Suzuki and its activities pertaining to the conspiracy to
prohibit pest control product. Suzuki ’s foundation accepts NO
money from government, unlike the majority of the ENVIRONMENTAL
MOVEMENT . However, there MA Y be a huge conflict–of–interest be-
tween being a supposedly neutral television personality working for
a government–owned public broadcasting corporation, and operat-
ing a partisan militant environmental organization.

Suzuki and golf.

D AVID S UZUKI F O UNDATION obviously actively

supports the prohibition of pest control products.
Furthermore, it has also publicly stated that it
DOES NOT want any Ontario prohibition excep-
tions for the G OLF I NDUSTRY .

David Suzuki himself has said the following in 2008 ... (the un-
derlined emphasis is our own).

[ The new prohibition legislation in On-

tario ] allows golf courses to continue us-
ing pesticides and gives power to the On-
tario minister of the environment to allow
other exceptions, a potentially dangerous
loophole.

On its web site, D AVID S UZUKI F OU NDATION has also made the
following statement about golf exceptions on October 15 t h , 2008 . ▬

If provincial prohibitions exempt golf

courses, as proposed in the discussion
paper, municipalities need clear authority
to restrict pesticide use on golf courses
within their boundaries to better protect
public health and the environment.

Suzuki,
The Puppet Master of the
Environmental Movement.

Suzuki has definitely taken a LEADERSHIP role among those

groups in the ENVIRONMENTAL MO VEMENT . It appears that some-
times Suzuki even acts as T HE P UPPET M ASTER of the ENVIRON-

Suzuki shield organizations.

E NVIRON ME NTAL SHIELD ORGANIZAT IONS (also called umbrella

groups or front organizations) are often used by the ENVIRON MENTAL
MOVEMENT . S HIELDS are set up and controlled by a parent group, or
several parent groups. They can act for the parent group without
the actions being attributed to the parent group.
27/ 09/2009

E NVI RO NMENTAL SHI EL DS are set up for one or several of the following rea-
sons. ▬

• For collecting or donating funds.

• For concealing the views of supposedly moderate professionals, such as
physicians and health care workers, in an attempt to mask their extremist
views.
• For ensuring that the non–profit tax status of the parent groups is not
jeopardized by their activities.
• For giving everyone the impression that the E N V IR ON ME N TA L MOVE ME N T has
considerable size and power, when in fact, it does not.
• For giving the public the impression that there is GR A SS – R OOTS support for
changes in public policy.
• For protecting the parent groups from legal liability.

On the matter of conspiring to prohibit pest control products, Suzuki has

been involved with at least two SHI EL D organizations in two different provinces.

Suzuki’s public affairs SHI EL D organization in Ontario is C OA L IT ION FOR

P E S TIC ID E R E FOR M O N TA R IO . This coalition was created to ensure the passage
of the Ontario C OS ME TIC P E S T IC ID E S B A N A C T .

supported by Suzuki. ▬

Suzuki in Quebec.

As conspiracies to prohibit pest control products rampage across Can-

ada, the one bright spot is Quebec, where a prohibition, in existence since
2006 , is now being challenged by a manufacturer. D OW A GR O S C IE N C ES , the
proud owner of the hated herbicide 2,4– D has declared that it has had enough,
and is invoking its rights as a company that manufactures a product that has
been given a clean bill of health by H E A LTH C A N A D A . Dow argues that the fed-
eral government owes millions of dollars in lost revenues for a product that
was prohibited needlessly. Dow’s case is based upon C H A P TE R 11 of the
N OR TH A ME R IC A F R E E T R AD E A GR EE ME NT (N.F.T.A.).

Here is what D OW A GR O S C IE N C E S had to say in a media release on Oc-

tober 24 t h , 2008 . ▬

The actions of the Government of Quebec are

tantamount to a blanket ban based on non–
scientific criteria. [ ... ] The PMRA [ Pest
Management Regulatory Agency of Health
Canada ] concluded that 2,4−D can be used
safely according to label directions for a vari-
ety of lawn, turf and agricultural applications,
and that the product meets all of Canada’s
pesticide health and safety regulations, which
are among the toughest and most stringent in
the world.

The N.A.F.T.A. Chapter 11 scenario has the E N V IR ON ME N TA L MOV E MEN T ,

and Suzuki in particular, extremely worried. This scenario has dogged the
movement for years for other hated products, such as C H LOR DA NE , DDT, and
LIN D A N E .
27/ 09/2009

If this scenario plays out in its entirety, the Canadian federal government
may ultimately be forced to dispense hundreds of millions of dollars for every
pest control product prohibited in every province and municipality across Can-
ada. T H E P U PP E T M AS TE R himself, along with those minion organizations that
have conspired to prohibit pest control products, may also be liable for huge
sums of money. This scenario is mind boggling to people such as David Su-
zuki, who has created the S U ZU K I A LL IA N C E with other members of the E N V I-
R ON ME N TA L MOV E ME N T , and who has retained the services of lawyers concern-
ing the matter in an effort to pressure the federal government to avert this ju-
risdictional catastrophe.

Here is a statement from the Suzuki lawyer on March 24 t h , 2009 . ▬

We cannot allow U.S. businesses to hand-

cuff provinces from applying the precaution-
ary principle when it comes to protecting
residents from potentially cancer−causing
chemicals. If the NAFTA challenge pro-
ceeds, we will seek to intervene and submit
the viewpoint of environmental groups.

Everyone knows that the G OV E R N ME N T OF Q U E B EC and the Canadian

Federal Government are both in a bind over the issue of 2,4–D. The federal
P E S T M A N A GE ME N T R E GU LA TOR Y A GE N CY of H E A LTH C A N A D A has recently de-
termined that 2,4–D meets Canada’s strict health and safety standards, and as
such is acceptable for continued registration in Canada.

In 2009 , the S U ZU K I A LL IA N C E was formed with seven environmental

groups to challenge the threat against the Quebec prohibition of pest control
products. The head of this alliance is T H E P U P PE T M A S TE R himself and his
foundation, David Suzuki. The AL L I AN C E was set up to pool expertise and to
increase public awareness regarding the threat to the E N V IR ON ME N TA L MOV E -
ME N T . This alliance is also designed to give everyone the impression that the
E N V IR ON ME N TA L MOVE ME N T has considerable size and power against this
threat, when in fact, it does not.
27/ 09/2009

The S E V E N following organizations are calling upon the G OV E RN ME N T OF

C A N A DA to vigorously defend Quebec’s prohibition on pest control products.
These groups oppose the D OW A GR O S C IE N C E S lawful challenge of Quebec’s
prohibition under the N OR TH A ME R IC A N F R E E T R A DE A GR E E ME N T (N.A.F.T.A.)
Chapter 11. They also want federal government to acknowledge that it makes

Suzuki’s apparent hypocrisy.

H E R E ’ S Y OU R W EE K LY S C IE N C E M A TTE RS C OLU MN by David Suzuki with

Faisal Moola . March 27 t h , 2009 .

Now’s the time to take science seriously

How can any society make important decisions about

these issues without being scientifically literate and in-
formed ?

Too often, the role of science in solving our social, medi-

cal, and economic problems is poorly understood be-
cause the nature of scientific research, discovery, and
application is not understood.

[ ... ] good scientists make important discoveries, and to

maintain a top group of scientists, we need a culture that
supports and honours its researchers. That can’t happen
when science funding becomes a political hockey puck
slapped around by whichever party comes into power.
We need generous long–term support for our top scien-
tists so that they can create clusters of enthusiastic, in-
spired researchers.

Evidently, Suzuki supports scientists W HEN I T SUI TS HI M . He evidently

DO ES NO T SUPPO RT those scientists working for P E S T M AN A GE ME N T R E GU LA -

W EED O UT P ESTICIDES !

Keeping unnecessary lawn and garden pesticides

off store shelves is the best way to stop their use.
That's why the David Suzuki Foundation is work-
ing to ban both their sale and use in provinces
across Canada.

With Ontario and Quebec banning unnecessary lawn and garden

pesticides, and New Brunswick considering similar action, there is
great promise for similar bans across the country.
27/ 09/2009

Ontario

This week, a ban on lawn and garden pesticides was finalized by the
government of Ontario. Starting this spring, 295 pesticides will be
banned in Canada's most populous province, benefiting both hu-
man health and the environment through reduced use and expo-
sure.

“ Yes we can, eh ? ! ”

This would never have happened without thousands of others like

you, who used the David Suzuki Foundation website to tell gov-
ernment officials the places we live, work and play should be free of
needless chemical pesticides. Your collective effort strengthened
the ban, even while the chemical lobby threatened to weaken it.
You actions go beyond making Ontario the second province in Can-
ada to ban lawn and garden pesticides. Now is the time to grab this
momentum to ban pesticides in other provinces.

Provincial Pesticide Bans W ork !

Quebec is currently the only province to restrict cosmetic pesticide

sales (the Ontario ban will not be in place until 2009). Statistics
Canada found that the number of households using pesticides in
Quebec decreased by 50% between 1994 and 2005. Nationwide,
pesticide use dipped by only 2 percentage points over the same pe-

FORCE OF NATURE was launched for continuous transmission on the Internet on January 1st, 2009. It is a series of e–
newsletters destined for the GREEN S PACE INDUSTRY, the ENVIRONMENTAL TERROR MOVEMENT, politicians, municipalities,
and the media, nation–wide across Canada, and parts of the United States and overseas. FORCE OF N ATURE is pro-
duced in two parts. First. The MEDIA REPORT itself that reports on the current events affecting the future of the
GREEN S PACE INDUSTRY . Second. INDEPENDENT P ERSPECTIVE , which is a running commentary, sometimes technical in
nature. Force of Nature is the WHOLE TRUTH from an INDEPENDENT PERSPECTIVE !

FORCE OF N ATURE is the brainchild of William H. Gathercole and his entourage. Norah G is ac-
tually an acronym for the stable of writers that contribute to this e–newsletter. The opinions
expressed in Force of Nature, even though from an INDEPENDENT PERSPECTIVE , may not reflect
those of everyone in the GREEN S PACE INDUSTRY, or Mr. Gathercole’s many associates. Be
warned ! Mr. Gathercole and Norah G may sometimes be very irreverent and fearless with
these e–newsletters. DON’T THANK US . IT’S A PUBLIC SERVICE . A ND WE ARE GLAD TO DO IT.

William H. Gathercole holds a degree in Horticulture from the U NIVERSITY OF G UELPH, and another pure and applied
science degree from MCGILL U NIVERSITY. He has worked in virtually all aspects of the GREEN S PACE INDUSTRY, including
public affairs, personal safety, and environmental issues. Mr. Gathercole has been a consultant and instructor for
decades. He also been an agricultural agronomist. Mr. Gathercole has been following the evolution of ENVIRON-
MENTAL TERRORISM for over a quarter–century. His involvement in environmental issues reached a fevered pitch in
the 1990s, when he orchestrated, with others, legal action against unethical and excessive municipal regulations
restricting the use of pest control products. ( i.e. the Town of Hudson. ) Although he can be accused of being ANTI –
ENVIRONMENT–MOVEMENT, he is, in fact, simply a strong advocate FOR the GREEN S PACE I NDUSTRY. However, this posi-
tion has not precluded him from criticizing the Green Space Industry itself. Nonetheless, his vast knowledge of our
long journey with environmental issues is UNDENIABLE. ( Hopefully ! ) For many years, Mr. Gathercole has been a
contributing columnist for TURF & R ECREATION Magazine, Canada’s Turf and Grounds Maintenance Authority.

All document excerpts and pictures contained in FORCE OF NATURE were found somewhere on the Internet. We be-
lieve that they are in the public domain, serving one of the following purposes : archive, education, promotion, pub-
licity, or press release.

We believe that environmental terrorism can be BEATEN ! Information presented in FORCE OF N ATURE has been devel-
oped for the education and entertainment of the reader. The events, characters, companies, and organizations, de-
picted in this document are not always fictitious. Any similarity to actual persons, living or dead, may not be coin-
cidental. The mission of Force of Nature is to respond to those statements and activities originating from culprits
that conspire to prohibit FEDERALLY LEGAL , SCIENTIFICALLY SAFE, and TOTALLY IRREPLACEABLE conventional pest control
products. Culprits are identified on the basis of their statements, activities, affiliations, and whereabouts. Even
though each culprit is a mis–guided adversary, each still deserves our respect. The term « culprit » is not an accu-
sation of any legal wrong–doing. Force of Nature is simply holding culprits accountable for changes in public policy
that have terrorized the Green Space Industry. Force of Nature believes that the prohibition policies of the ENVIRON-
MENTAL TERROR MOVEMENT will lead to UNEMPLOYMENT, BANKRUPTCY , BUSINESS FAILURE , DESPAIR , and DESTITUTION. The ac-
tions of the movement is viewed as a form of TERROR against the Green Space Industry.
