Prayer Bulletin No, 23h
QONGERNING THB PANTLY,
Our rising generation is in deadly peril. A creeping rot of moral.
Aisintegration is eating into our society. It is alarming to read of
the number of teen-agers involved in alcohol, drugs, theft, murder,
vape ~ and so on. Some of the crimes the youtgsters are committing
are elmost unspeakable. Every day we read in the news columns of the
nost flagrant cases. Without doubt, the most serious menace facing
our generation is the Godless, rebellious youth, that will be our
men and women of tomorrow. There are serious danger signals that every
Ohristien parent should give earnest heed to right now to the trend.
Unfortunately, it seems that it is not so much a matter of "youth
delinquency", as it is of "parent delinquency". The seeds of crime
are being fertilised, all too often, byWusy-going, over-indulgent,
sort of bringing up ‘the poor kids are getting. Many parents today
couldn't care less where their children are, or what they are doing.
How unlike that ancient mother, Rizpah, (2 San 21.0.) who stood over
‘the dead bodies of her sons, shooing away the vultures by day, and the
wild beast ty night. Today’many modem parents are leaving their
children an easy prey to filthy "R" movies, any old company, and who
knows what? Of course I'm not suggesting this of Christian parents. But
Parent ~ "Is it well with YOUR child?
We ere living in a shocking world - I weep as I think of what they
may have to face. This generation is rapidly going pegan. Tae trend is
away from Church and spiritual things. Our schools, colleges and
universities are being secularised. Modern attitudes involving morals,
@ivorce, gambling, etc., are all tending to aweep away the standards
that have been the pillars of civilisation for generations. I believe
it is becoming almost impossible to get the masses who do not attend
Church to change their habits of life now and come to the House of
God (Unless, of course we have a Mighty Holy Ghost “evival!) They
and their families are well-nigh lost to the Gaurea and to Ohrist's
Cause.
Parents, you must lead the vay in leading your family to Ohrist and
Keeping then on the road to Glory. The Church will do it's best, but
4 great responsibility lays at your door. Our boys and girls need
Onrist! He is their only hope! “While they are in their formative
years, and under your control DO SSE THAT TEEY COME [0 CHURCH.
Come yourself regularly and BRING THEN! Are you setting then a daily
exemple of Christ-like living? Have you a family altar? Do you talk
‘their problens over with then ~ end encourage then to trust Jesus in
sll their difficulties? I realise that it may be difficult for some,
for the very spirit of rebellion, disobedience and anarchy saturates
our present day society ~ and the young people tend to think that it
is the nornsl way of life. It ube off on them.
Our children are only loaned to us - we hold then for God in trust.
Ae stewards, we are commanded by God, "Drain up a child in the way it
should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it" (Prov 22.6)
One day each of us will be required to give an account of our steward-
ship.
Let me finish on a brighter note! Parent, if you do YOUR part, God
has promised that He will do His, He is a’God of families. God loves
families. Children of believing parents have His special interest.
They are marked out for salvation ~ subject, of course, to certain
Conditions (1 Cor 7.14; Acts 16,51; Prov 22.6)
As fathers, we must exercise loving suthority - this IS important.
12 @ child grows up to ignore or despise his parents’ authority, it
is most wlikely, that he will ever submit to God's.
Never downgrade the Church ~ lift it up, and upgrade the Pestor, the
Officers, members, meetings, etc. Be enthusiastic about your Lord and
all that pertains to His House. ‘ry to attend regularly, bring the
whole family. Encourage the children to attend the Children's Church
or Young People's meetings. Pastor is there to help and encourage
then too. Well all do our part - God helping us!
The Lord bless you ~ and your lovely family - in Jesus! Nene!
