When the Reading Room was brought back rom terminal decline we needed help withthings like wiring, ooring, painting, blinds, joinery, roong, seating, heavy lifing, und-raising and the stove. 2011 is destined to be an historicyear not just for royal marriagesbut for the 100th anniversary ofthe Appleton Reading Room.
We are planning events to celebrate this greatoccasion including themed lms, some shownusing our 16mm projector and an open day or people to explore the entire room and it’sgrounds.In addition to alerting you to this landmark occasion this leaet has been produced to say a big thank you to all those who have giventheir time and expertise to renovating andmaintaining the Reading Room or public use.We hope to raise money this year andcommission the work needed to ensure theRoom’s survival or another 100 years.
