Santa Hits Hurricane
Jane’s
Well, the holiday feel was in the air at Hurricane Jane’son Thursday Dec 23. Jan and Ron wanted to give back to the community that has given them so much thispast year. The held a special night for all. From the din-ing area, you could kick back with friends and familyand enjoy a great meal while listening to the talentedlocal, Keith Bartell, as he filled the air with wonderfulChristmas favorites.
The staff was all decked out intheir matching Tie Dyed outfits and full of smiles andcheer. In the other half of the establishment, that is al-lowed to be used by the community from dance classes,to painting classes and home for Sunday Night TeenGathering by Freedom Family Church for the entirecommunity was the place do be if you where a kid. Asyou walked in the room, the wall was lined with 150treat back, that would go home to all the children. Filledwith fruits and candies, these bags hit a home run. The big screen was up and I (Liberty Leader) was luckyenough to be allowed to sponsor the movies for all thechildren to enjoy. From Charlie Brown to Frosty theSnowman was the features of the night. Prior to themovie it was overwhelming to hear all the commotionsas these kids funneled in the room. But just like magic, when the movie started, the kids all fell into place onthe floor and you could have heard a pin drop, as theyeagerly looked at the shows. Hurricane Jane’s providedfree hotdogs and drinks to all the children. They had aspecial guest that brought in a real manager with hay. Iwas amazed at how the kids could not stop touchingthe hay, it was like a new found item. The speaker wenton
to give the true meaning of CHRISTmas. Wait, whatis that I see.... in walked Santa...so much for the peaceand order. The kids jumped to attention and fell in line. Each child got an opportunity to set with Santa andgive him his wishes. Each child got to pick a free boy orgirl toy to take with them. I love seeing how a commu-nity pulls together and shows their love for each other.Well with most hurricanes there is mass destruction, but with Liberty's very own Hurricane, nothing butgoodness and smiles was left by this Hurricanes effect.Pictures on page 2
