• Dolce&Gabbana (spelled without
spaces, unlike the name of the
company) specializes in expensive
luxury items, is influenced more by
designers and is more formal and
'timeless', responding to long-term
trends rather than seasonal changes.
• D&G is a slightly more casual line that
follows an urban inspiration and
attempts to set trends rather than
follow them.
• The company was started by the Italian
designers Domenico Dolce &
Stefano Gabbana and is based in Milan, Italy.
By 2005 their turnover was €750 million
• Dolce & Gabbana (pronounced dol-che gabb-
an-a) is a high-end fashion house started by
the Italian designers Domenico Dolce, born
near Palermo, Sicily, and Stefano Gabbana,
born in Milan, Italy. Dolce & Gabbana are
very popular for their designs in the
Hollywood industry; they have designed
clothes for many famous celebrities. The
company is based near Milan (Legnano).
• They “make stars look like stars” with their
sexy styles.
• They also created the costumes for Madonna's
Girlie Show in 1993, as well as Whitney
Houston's 1999 tour.
• they made their name together in 1985, when
the organisers of the Milano Collezioni invited
them to take part in a fashion show to launch
"New Talents". The following year, they
presented their first independent women's
ready-to-wear show. Since then, they have
introduced menswear and a line of signature
fragrances, and opened shops in Italy, Japan,
etc
The private life of Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce became
public in 2005, when they officially announced their separation. The
business has remained unchanged and both continue to design
together.
• D&G trademarks include underwear-as-
outerwear (such as corsets and bra
fastenings), gangster boss pinstripe suits,
extravagantly printed and embroidered
coats, and black.
• But fundamentally they are known for
making women look, quite simply,
devastatingly sexy. "They find their way out
of any black dress, any buttoned-up blouse,“
• Dolce and Gabbana gave their fashion
interests a musical turn in 1996, by recording
their own single, in which they intoned the
words "D&G is love" over a techno beat.

For more than 20 years now, Dolce & Gabbana
has been a trend setter in the sunglass
industry. The Dolce Gabbana sunglasses
fashion in 2009 is no different. Included in
the Dolce Gabanna sunglasses fashion in 2009
are vintage styles including oversized frames
and wrap around lenses. Dolce & Gabanna has
even added extra beautiful detailing to these
styles in diamonds, sapphires, and even silver.
Dolce & Gabbana sunglasses have been a
favorite of many celebrities, including such
beautiful women as Katie Holmes, Sophia
Lauren, Victoria Beckham, and Nicole Richie.

• Since its inception in 1985, Dolce & Gabbana
has been regarded as a revolutionary
influence in international fashion design.
With their first fragrance, Dolce & Gabbana
Pour Femme, the company showed an
olfactory expression of its highly successful
fashion designs.
• Today, their glamorous fragrances—for both
men and women—continue to symbolize and
evolve the Italian label's sexy, overconfident
spirit.
