In this text, I have tried to include a lot of the basic information you need to playguitar, as well as some more advanced guitar techniques and theory. Don't try to runbefore you can walk! Each section tends to begin with the most importantinformation. So, for example, when studying chord shapes, start with the beginningof that chapter - open chords and essential barre chords. This book isn't really designed to be read from cover to cover, as you would a novel. You'd be better off dipping into different sections. Take half an hour to studypentatonic scales, or see how many chords with the root on the 4
string youalready know. Of course, it wouldn't take you that long to actually read the entiretext, although it will probably take you a while before all of the techniques, chordshapes and scales mentioned in this book are 'in your fingers'.I hope you enjoy studying some of these materials.
