Blessed is the man whose strength is in Thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.
Who passing through the Valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools
they go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God
(Psalms 84:5-7).
ike a mountain range, life is a series of peaks
l and valleys, accented by smooth and rocky
terrain, and lambasted by all types of weather.
At times, we fail to realize that navigating through the
ups and downs in life is one of our greatest challenges.
The decisions we make in exercising our free will
determine which paths we take, the experiences we have
and effect the lives of other people. As such, knowing
. how to climb mountains will serve us well in our journey.
Psalms 84:5-7 teaches us some important lessons about
how to climb mountains in life:
1) Blessed is the man whose strength is in God. When
mountain climbing, you need a good strong rope.
When mountain climbing through life that rope is faith
and faith in God is a rope that will never fail you. If
you think that your rope of faith is too thin to be
trustworthy, please note that faith in God is a rope like
no other because instead of wearing with use, it grows
stronger! Further, Faith comes by hearing, and hearing
by the word of God (Romans 10:17); that means to
increase faith, study your Bible.
The second concern in mountain climbing is
choosing which direction to travel and which route to
follow. The answer is found by keeping your eyes on
Jesus, who is after all, the Author and Finisher of our
faith (Hebrews 12:12). Jesus is an able Light to
guide you (John 8:12). Regardless of the terrain to
be crossed or the estimated size of the mountain, it is
vital never to lose sight of this Light. Doing so will
bring disorientation and even disastrous falls , even
and especially when on a peak-triumph can quickly
tum into defeat if we forget that we have not ceased
climbing mountains just because we are at the top.
Destination- God.
2) The Valley of Weeping. At times our own bad
decisions lead us into valleys that could have been
avoided had we followed Rule Number 1. At other
times, however, it is necessary to travel through these
Valleys. In either case, God is with us, even as we walk
through those valleys (Psalms 23:4). Successfully
traveIIing through valleys further strengthens our faith
and develops perseverance (James 1:2-3). Jesus said,
My grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is
made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).
Again, put your trust in God, and He will tum your

valley of weeping into pools of blessings, and your
losses into gains. Finally, our pain is never in vain, 2
, Corinthians 1:3-4 reminds us that He is the Father of
mercies amd the God of all comfort, who comforts us in
tribulation so that we can comfort others.

3) Go From Peak to Peak. As a Christian you have
much prosperity to look forward to no matter where
you are in your trek. First Corinthians 2:9 says, No
eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has
conceived what God has prepared for those who
love Him. Therefore, when going from peak to peak,
don't go all the way to the bottom of one valley, if you
don't have to, because you only have to go back up
again. We go from peak-to-peak by holding firmly to
our faith, thus; it is by the rope of faith that we travel
from strength to strength: don't let go of that rope!
Finally, remember that, You can do all things through
Christ Who strengthens you (philippians 4:13).
If you are not a Christian, please consider mountain
climbing with God by accepting Jesus Christ today.
Only in this way will you receive the light of life
which will guide you as you mountain climb through
this life and even to life eternal (John 8:12, Psalms
84:7; Romans 10:9).
