DR. DAVE: From day one, our major measuring yardstick was how well did the addict get
along in NON-treatment groups. In the dining room, with the visiting alumni, or the
community outings. That's been the mark of success or failure in all the treatment
centers I have been affiliated with.
BILL: Reading Corey Haim's biography, it was clear that drugs kept him from going back
to restart his development with friends his own age.
DR. DAVE: When Lindsay went off on an extravagant Cannes vacation between rehabs,
my feeling was, there it was again – a dismissal of targeted aftercare, where
professionals and peers would help her "come of age" with the social development she
needs in recovery.

getting bailed out. Jail was a joke. Rehab is a joke. Court was a joke.
She had "fu_k u" on her middle finger nail, pointed at the Judge. It's
only a matter of time before she kills someone, or herself. That's
when her parents will sue saying the courts weren't tough enough.
