Classical Christian AcademyHIGH SCHOOL
Vision
Our vision is to provide a classical Christian education where parent-teacher partnership supportsfamily time, as well as mutual accountability.  In a positive peer environment, we will buildfuture Christian Leaders with a Biblical Worldview.
What is the purpose of CCA’s High School?
BIBLICALLY SOUND – COLLEGE BOUND – CAREER PATHS ABOUND
CCA’s model blends classroom and at-home learning, which most closely resembles theschedule that students will experience in their college career.  The ultimate goal of our programis to train leaders for God’s glory and work on expanding the students’ vision for their lives.  It isimportant that the students know what they believe and have the tools to learn and become life-long learners.  The academic program prepares students to be able to competently apply for college admission and scholarships. Career exploration, job shadowing, and a senior internshipwill be facets of the program that will help students find and focus on a career path that will befulfilling and utilize their God-given gifts. If parents feel that their student is not college bound, then administration will meet with the parent(s) and student to discuss an appropriate academicpath that will help to prepare them for life beyond high school.  First and foremost, we recognizethe value of growing life-long learners that are prepared to serve God, knowing that CCA cansupport the parents’ efforts to train children to make moral choices and develop maturity. In preparation for college, the workplace and real life beyond their education, we recognize theimportance of being a well rounded person who serves others and is involved in being alighthouse to their surrounding community.  CCA’s High School Program will involve a varietyof scheduled community service hours (ensuring eligibility requirement of volunteer hours for Bright Futures Scholarship) and educational field trips to enhance our curriculum in a real-worldsetting.CCA’s academic load focuses on the core academic classes, especially math, reading andwriting, while allowing students to individualize some of their electives and foreign language. As a Classical school we recognize the need to develop the rhetoric stage in alternative settings.

Each year students will complete one project in an area of interest supporting a possible career path, such as entering a Science Fair Competition, Public Speaking Competition, InventorsCompetition, Essay Competition, Odyssey of the Mind Competition, etc.  Our unique scheduleallows us to accomplish more in less time, expand beyond traditional classroom lecture learning, and allows parents to continue to be involved in their high school student’s life as they are their coach and cheerleader.  As part of our school-wide vision, it is important to teach our students tobalance faith, family, and school, which is training for adulthood.Furthermore, school work off-campus at CCA will transition from the high-parent involvementof the elementary and middle grades to an independent student with parent as coach andsupervisor of their high-schooler. This prepares a student for more real-life expectations found incollege and future careers.  Students will be expected to develop a variety of life-long learningskills including, but not limited to, self-guided learning, completing projects to demonstrateknowledge, research projects, and completing assignments begun in the classroom.  Honorsclasses are available for students, yet we caution that many colleges look most at the course loadand well rounded students more heavily than the weighted GPAs.  Lastly, as we focus ongrowing life-long learners, we feel that students should experience a variety of assessments, varying from the alternative assessments (presentation, projects / portfolios to reflect their learning over time, real-life application tools) to the traditional testing format (multiple choice,true/false, essay).
