–US size 9 (5.5 mm) 16”circular; US size 10.5 (6.5mm) 16”circular; US size 10.5 (6.5mm) double pointed needles. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
Notions
– 1 stitch marker; cableneedle; tapestry needle

17 sts/ 4” in cable pattern on larger needles. Take time to check gauge.

STITCH GUIDECable 4 back (C4B):
Slip next 2 sts onto cable needle and hold in back of work; knit next 2 sts on the left hand needle, thenknit the 2 sts held on the cable needle.
Cable 4 front (C4F):
Slip next 2 sts onto cable needle and hold in front of work. Knit next 2 sts on the left hand needle, thenknit the 2 sts held on the cable needle.
INSTRUCTIONS
BRIMWith smaller needles, CO 84 sts, join for working in the round placing marker to indicate beginning of round. 
Rnds 1-10:
work in 1x1 ribbing (*K1, P1, repeat from * to end of round) 
Rnd 11:
P all sts BODY Change to larger needles 
Rnds 12 - 13:
*K6, P1, repeat from * to end. 
Rnd 14:

*K2, C4B (see stitch guide), P1, repeat from * to end Repeat rnds 12-17 two more times and then rows 12-14 one more timeDECREASINGSwitch to DPNs when necessary 
Decrease rnd 1:
*K6, K2tog, K4, SSK, K6, P1, repeat from * 3 more times to end of rnd – 76 sts 
Rnd 2:
