What Does This Warranty Cover?
This warranty covers any deects in materialor workmanship in the new Seagate productaccompanied by this warranty statement. Onlyconsumers purchasing this Seagate product rom anauthorized Seagate retailer may obtain coverage underthis warranty.
How Long Does The Coverage Last?
The warranty period is  years rom the documenteddate o your purchase.
What Does This Warranty Not Cover?
This warranty does not cover any problem that iscaused by commercial use; accident; abuse; neglect;shock; electrostatic discharge; heat or humidity;improper installation; operation; maintenance ormodication; any product with removed, damagedor tampered labels; malunctions caused by otherequipment; lost passwords; or any misuse contraryto the instructions in the user manual. This warrantydoes not cover data loss – back-up the contents o yourdrive to a separate storage medium on a regular basis.Also, consequential damages; incidental damages;and costs related to data recovery, removal, andinstallation are not recoverable under this warranty.
What Do You Have To Do?
Seagate will not provide any warranty coverageunless your claim is in compliance with all terms o this warranty statement and you ollow proper returnprocedure. To request warranty service, contact anauthorized Seagate service center or reer to www.seagate.com or more inormation regarding customersupport within your jurisdiction. You also may obtaininormation regarding the location o authorizedSeagate service centers and access Seagate automatedcustomer service directory by calling +1-800-SEAGATE. Callers outside the US can reach thisservice by dialing +1-0--770. Once anauthorized service center or Seagate determines thata repair is required, you will be prompted or yourname, address, phone number, e-mail and productserial number and then issued a Return MaterialAuthorization (RMA) to use when returning productto Seagate. Product you return to Seagate mustbe properly packaged in its original packaging (orpackaging providing the product with protectionequivalent to the original packaging) and shipped,with the shipping charges prepaid, to the addressprovided when you received your RMA. In addition toregular back-ups, i possible, back-up your data beoresending the drive or repair because the product yousend to Seagate or an authorized service provider willnot be returned to you.
What Will Seagate Do?
I Seagate authorizes you to return your product toSeagate or an authorized service provider, Seagate willreplace your drive without charge with a unctionallyequivalent replacement product. Seagate may replaceyour product with a product that was previously used,repaired and tested to meet Seagate specications. Bysending product or replacement, you agree to transerownership o the original product to Seagate. Seagatewill not return your original drive to you. Data recoveryis not covered under this warranty and is not part o the repair or exchange process. I you would like datarecovery perormed on your drive, it is available romSeagate as a separate service or an additional charge.Seagate warrants that repaired or replaced productsare covered or the greater o either the remainder o the original product warranty or 90 days. Seagate willpay to ship the replacement drive to you.
How Does State Law Apply?
The laws o the State o Caliornia, USA, govern thiswarranty. It gives you specic legal rights, and youmay also have other rights that vary rom state tostate. This warranty does not aect any additionalrights you have under laws in your jurisdictiongoverning the sale o consumer goods, including,
