BADMINTON
 Badminton is an indoor sport that has beengreatest since the end of world war II. It is sport fortwo or four players. The players use long handledrackets to hit a shuttlecock over a net. The net isstretched across a marked court. Badminton rackets arelightweight. A shuttlecock is usually made of cork andfeather. The court is about 5.2 meter wide and 13.4meter long for singles, and 1 meter wider for doubles.In order to score, a player has to save, or put theshuttlecock into play. A server can score when theopponent lets the shuttlecock fall to the ground or by afault. A fault occurs when the opponent, in an attemptto return the shuttlecock safely, allows it to go into orunder net. To hit the shuttlecock out of the playing arealso a fault. Men win a game after collecting 15 points.In women singles 11 points wins a game.Badminton has been growing very rapidly. Itgrows either as backyard recreation or as a competitivesport. The International Badminton Federation wasfounded in 1934 with nine nation represented. Now ithas members in more than 40 nations, and a worldtournament for both men and women is held every twoyears.
