The Hawaiʻi Academy of Recording Arts Bill Murata Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to two individuals in the amount of $3,000.00 each. Recipients must have exhibited a demonstrable interest and concentration in the area of Hawaiian music, the music of Hawaiʻi, and/or Hawaiian poetry and adhere to the criteria specified in the application.
Applications are now being accepted, and must be postmarked by April 30, 2011. The awardees will be announced at the 2011 Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards.

Criteria
1. Application Deadline: April 30, 20112. Applicant must by a Hawai‘i state resident.3. Applicant must be attending, or plan to attend a Hawai‘i college or university.4. Applicant must be a sophomore or greater.5. Undergraduates must maintain a 2.0 cumulative G.P.A. and earn a minimum of “C” grade for allcourses in the music or Hawaiian language component of their degree. Graduates must maintain a 3.0cumulative G.P.A.
