Concept 1: For the first concept, I created a design that follows the interior mockup that was already creat-
ed for this book. The same title font was used so that there is a smooth continuation from cover to interior.
The first design utilizes a glow effect around the title and author photo, which adds interest to an overall
simple and sophisticated design.

Concept 2: For the second concept, the blood smudge that is seen on the necklace was duplicated on the
back and front cover. The author photo was given a softened edge to make it appear as though it is emerg-
ing from the background. The gold coin texture was added as an overlay to part of the title. This design is
edgier which works well the murder-mystery part of the book.
