152: Paranoia
A friend of mine once remarked in regard to my descriptions of Majestic’s harassment, “You talk likeyou’re paranoid, but you don’t act like you’re paranoid.” I took that as a compliment. My American Heritage dictionary defines paranoia as “1. A psychotic disorder characterized bydelusions of persecution or grandeur, often strenuously defended with apparent logic and reason. 2.Extreme, irrational distrust of others. Neither of these two definitions acknowledge the truth in what that famous and often quoted author,Anonymous, said about paranoia, “Just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean that they’re not out to getyou.”Many of the different forms of harassment that Majestic inflicts on certain individuals are meant toinduce paranoia, or at least the appearance of such, in the subject. If you ACT crazy, people won’t listento you. When Majestic agents smeared the inside of my shower curtain with blood and ground-uporganic matter (blog post #94), or when they burned and twisted my religious pendants (blog post #89),they were trying to get me to react fearfully to an unknown force that would do such things to me in themiddle of the night. If I acted paranoid, no one would believe me credible. And if Majestic was lucky, Imight even attract the attention of the men in white coats with keys to the padded cell. I believe asignificant number of people incarcerated in mental health institutions are not delusional, butAbductee/Experiencers who took a wrong turn.I didn’t react as they had hoped, however. Instead of running down the highway yelling, “They’re here! They’re here!” like Kevin McCarthy in the classic 1956 science fiction film,
 Invasion of the BodySnatchers
, I simply noted the incidents in my UFO journal and later included them in my book,
 Abducted by Aliens
. (I’m a Gemini, and therefore react more with my head than my heart.)I also realized early in life that presentation counts for a lot. Whenever I appear in public as anAbductee/Experiencer, I dress business casual, meaning dark slacks, white shirt & tie, and sport coat. For some reason, people are more inclined to believe someone if they dress conservatively.
