ENJOYING eBOOKS ON iOSWhat you’ll need:
•An iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad running iOS 4.0 or greater•An Adobe ID (and password)•An Internet Connection•A valid library card
Before getting started:
•Update your Apple device•Plug your device into your computer.•Open iTunes•Make sure the iOS is 4.0 or greater or check for an update•Get an Adobe ID (or know your existing ID
and password
).•If you do not already have an Adobe ID, visit Adobe.com and register for a newaccount. Adobe manages the Digital Rights Management (DRM) of the library’seBooks. As part of the installation process, the app must be authenticated with anAdobe ID before downloading an eBook.•Log into the NH Downloadable Books site and checkout an eBook to your account.•Finding an available eBook on the mobile version of the site is difficult. There is noway to isolate the available books from the majority of books that are currentlychecked out.•To view available eBooks:
Click on Advanced Search >> Format: Adobe EPUB eBooks>> Check: Only view titles with copies available >> Search
 
•Speak to your local librarian about any additionalinformation you might need to log into the NHDB Website.Some libraries use prefixes to make their patron numbersunique.•Check to see if your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch is connected tothe Internet.
Find and install the software:
•Using iTunes on your computer or the App Store on yourdevice, search for “OverDrive Media Console” and downloadthe app.•If downloading through your computer, be sure to sync yourdevice to add the app.
Authorize your app with your Adobe ID:
•Before downloading an eBook, visit “Settings” and authorizethe app with your Adobe ID.•Tap “Authorize with Adobe ID”•Enter your email address and password. (This requires anInternet connection.)•The same button should now read “Adobe ID: [your emailaddress].
Visit the Mobile Website & download the title:
•Close the OverDrive Media Console app (press the center Home button) and openSafari.•Go tohttp://nh.lib.overdrive.com(Bookmark the site for futureuse!)•Click on “Log In.”•Scroll through the very long list of libraries to locate yourlibrary. (We have a lot of member libraries here in NH!)•Click “Done.”•Enter your library card number (including any required prefix,no spaces) and tap “Login.”•From the “My Account” section, tap the link “CurrentlyChecked Out Items.”•Download the book.•The OverDrive Media Console will automatically reopen andstart downloading the title.•Begin reading!
