1.Compare and contrast In-house Implementation alongwith End Users with some real life examples?Ans 1Developing an ERP package is a very complex and time-consuming process, which needs a lot of skilled manpower andother resources. Many companies have personnel in their IT/ISdepartments who can absorb the necessary knowledge andwho have experience in developing sophisticated systems. Theproblem is that such specialized computer work is not the mainbusiness of these companies. They should be directing all theiravailable resources into improving their own products orservices so that they can remain competitive, serve theircustomers better and continue to grow. Besides having a verygood knowledge of the product, the people who are toimplement the ERP system should possess the following skills:.
Knowledge of how to organize and run a project of thismagnitude: This callsfor good organization skills, project management skills,team management skills and knowledge of scientificmethods of software project management.
. Enough experience in handling problems and issues thatarise during the implementation: No implementation willbe a smooth process; there will be problems, costoverruns, time overruns and so on. Knowing what to do in
 
these situations is vital for the success of the project.
. Good people skills: Any ERP implementation will faceresistance from the employees. The resistance could bedue to ignorance about the product, fear of unemployment, fear of training, fear of technology and soon. So it is very important that the people in theimplementation team are very good diplomats, adept atdiffusing crisis situations.
Good leadership skills: ERP implementation will involvedealing with a lot of people and good leadership and communication skills arevery effective.
Excellent training skills: Every ERP project involvesconsiderable amount of training at various levels and invarious details. There will be a familiarization programsfor all the employees, be executive programs for the topmanagement, functional training for the implementationteam members and end-user training.2.Being a manager of an upcoming organization whatdifferent ERP implementation methodologies would youadopt for SME’s in India?Ans 2
