Internasional Relations
1. understanding of international relations
Concept of international relations is closely related to subjects such as international
organizations, international law, international politics, and diplomacy. Therefore, to understand
about the knowledge of international relations will be presented various opinions as follows:
a. Charles A. Mc Clellad, international relations is the study of relevant circumstances surrounding
the interaction.
b. Warsito Sunaryo, international relations is the study of the interaction between the type of
specific social units, including the study of the relevant circumstances surrounding the interaction.
c. Tygve Nathiessen, international relations are part of political science and therefore the
components of international relations include internasioanal political, international organization and
administration, and international law.
d. Hugo De Groot, international relations is sas equality are the foundation of a free will and
consent of some or all countries. The goal is for the mutual benefit of those who unite themselves in
it.
e. Plan Implementation Strategy of the Republic of Indonesia Foreign Policy (Strategic Plan),
international relations are relations among nations in all its aspects is done by a country to achieve
the national interests of the country.
In international relations, known to some principle based on the area and scope of
application of legal provisions for regional and individual citizens.
There are 3 principle in international relations of mutual influence.
a. The principle of territorial
This principle is based on state power over the region. According to this principle, countries
implement the law for all people and all the items on its territory. So, to all the different things or
people outside the area, apply foreign law (International) fully.
b. The principle of nationality
This principle is based on state power for its own citizens. According to this principle, every citizen
wherever he is still getting treatment from the country's law. This principle has extraterritorial force.
That is the law of the country remain in force also for its citizens, even in foreign countries.
c. The principle of public interest
This principle is based on state authority to protect and manage the interests in public life. In this
case, the state can adapt to all circumstances and events that has to do with the public interest. Thus,
the law is not bound by the limits of the territory of a country.
Especially if this is not considered the third principle, there will be legal chaos in
international relations (international). Therefore, from country to country needs there is a regular
and orderly in the form of international law. However, often there are problems and disputes-
disputes that need to be solved. For example, the issue of dual-citizenship, national borders, military
service and the taxpayer.

2. The importance of international relations for a country


Each country has different sources of power. There is a country rich in natural resources,
there is also a lot of people, while other countries rely on an abundance of ilmuannya. Such
advantages were very influential on a country's position in international relations. There are several
factors that will determine the process of international relations, both bilaterally and multilaterally,
among other national forces, population, resources, and geographical location.
