Organizational behavior has become increasingly important in the success of anycompany or organization. Organizational behavior is analyzed using concepts such asleadership, communication, and motivation. Each competency is an important element in acompany¶s success. A company¶s understanding and exercise of organizational behavior concepts can be positive or detrimental for a company¶s organizational effectiveness.Companies must understand exactly what organizational behavior is. Hellriegel andSlocum (2009) defined organizational behavior as ³the study of individuals and groups within anorganizational context and the study of the internal processes and practices as they influence theeffectiveness of individuals, teams, and organizations.´ In order for a company to understand andlearn organizational behavior, they must learn the framework of organizational behavior. Theframework consists of four main components. The first component is the key competencies thatare the foundations and is the connection to the other components in the framework. The other three components are: the individuals that make up and organization, the leaders and teamswithin the organization and the organization as a whole (Hellriegel and Slocum, 2009).
