THE BY-LAWS OF RIVER REGION DRESSAGE AND COMBINED TRAININGASSOCIATION (R.R.D.C.T.A.)ARTICLE INAME AND INCORPORATION
Section 1. Name: The name of this corporation shall be River Region Dressage and CombinedTraining Association, Inc. The alternate name of the Association shall be RRDCTA.It shall be referred to in this document as either General Membership Organization(“GMO”) or “The Association”.Section 2. Not for Profit:A. The Corporation shall be a non-profit corporation organized under the laws of theState of Alabama and its purposes are exclusively charitable and educational as setforth in the Certificate of Incorporation.B. The activities of the Association are limited to those activities consistent withSection 501 of the Internal Revenue Code.C. No trustee, member, or officer of the corporation shall, as such, receive or becomeentitled to receive at any time any part of the net earnings or other net income of thecorporation; nor shall any part of the net earnings of the corporation inure to thebenefit of any person, except as reasonable compensation for services rendered andreimbursement for expenses incurred in conducting its affairs and carrying out itspurposes; nor shall a substantial part of the activities of the corporation be carryingon propaganda or otherwise attempting to influence legislation; nor shall thecorporation participate or intervene in any political campaign on behalf of, or inopposition to, any candidate for public office. Notwithstanding any other provisionof this Certificate of Incorporation, the corporation shall not carry on any otheractivities not permitted to be carried on (a) by a corporation exempt from federalincome tax under Section 501(c) of the Internal Revenue Code or (b) by acorporation contributions to which are deductible under Section 170(c)(2) of theInternal Revenue Code.Section 3: Purpose:The purpose of the Association is to promote and encourage a high standard of accomplishment of horsemanship and sportsmanship, with particular emphasis ondressage and eventing, primarily through educational programs and competitionopportunities. To further this purpose the Association will work closely with otherlocal, regional and national non-profit organizations.Section 4: OfficesThe Association office shall be located at the residence of the President or such otherplaces as its business may require and as the Board of Directors may designate.
